thoughts on house?

From my little knowledge of electronic music, it appears that house and trance are like two opposite ends of the spectrum.
House is what eventually got me into trance (through hard house, hardstyle, hard trance, etc). I'm already aware that a lot of house is cheesy, and many of you may dislike it, so I won't need to be flamed about that :P

Just wanna know you peoples' thoughts on house? Is there any house that you like? whats the best/worst house/hard house?

I'm into Hard House. I don't really care about genres too much, if it's banging, I probably like it. I also spin hard house and trance, sometimes together too. I agree trance and house are not very similar, but hard house has taken a few different routes right now, and some "hard house" tracks aren't that much different from the trance you can find in record stores.

I don't really like the cheesy house much, neither do I like cheesy trance much. Some cheese is good sometimes though.

Funky house and tech-house are fun and energetic, but I get bored after a while. Deep house practically makes me fall asleep. The more Euro-ish types of house are okay for a short while, but I soon find them boring and cheesy. Hard House quickly gives me a headache.

I'm a tranceaddict, but stil i don't enjoy all kind of trance.
The same with House..

i dislike disco house & commercial house (bar NY house ) but i am rather fond of tech-house, deephouse, prog house & some funky house... very very fond of Brother In Rhythm & Way Out West!!!

Hehe. Yeah I asked Markus Schulz what Scumfrog would be classed as, but he didn't say. Scumfrog plays a lot of Black woman vocal house though...a lot of funky house tracks have that as a staple.

p.s. He's reallllllly good @ mixing.

I am a really big follower of Progressive House - in fact I have equal numbers of trance & prog house 12" vinyl. To me I do seperate them in terms of genere, but when I mix, they go together beautifully. I'm also a big vocal house guy (not commercial radio poop though), which is more or less the new wave of dance music that hasn't made it to the radio yet (thank god) and get ruined.

I despise tech house and tribal house with a passion... but that's my perogative.

Chicago House all the way. love listenin to the stuff when the DJ knows what they are doin. House in general is an amazin genre. its what got me into trance, though i am a bigger house fan than trance fan. diggin alot of progressive lately too.
