for all the producers in here....

after djing for more than 3 years ive decided its about time to start producing.
i got for me the programs for it [reason, cuebase + emagic logic] and all of them looked like CHINESE to me.. so many buttons omg!
so i guessed the only way i can produce well is to go study it in schools.
i went today to some school in israel that learns how to produce...and i saw no REAL synths..only the programs i dloaded at home.

what do u think, and how u all started producing.. did u learn to use the programs in schools or u just played with it until u figured it out ??

just play with the programs, they all work basically the same,
but every program has its positive and negative sides...

i started w/ voyetra audio (primitive sound recording and editing software) then fruityloops, then Reason. Just play around w/ em til' u figure it out....but reason does have a good tutorial disc.

I started with loop-based song creation on Sonic Foundry's Acid 2.0, then as I got sick of finding samples, I learnt FruityLoops, and am still making nyce-ass trax with it. play aorund with the software to learn it. Otherwise, plenty of colleges in Toronto, Ontario, Canada have sound technology and audio engineering programs. I'm going to one of them next October.

Those schools are sooo bloody expensive though.

I am doing audio engineering and recording arts at AiCDIS in Vancouver. We have an entire class dedicated to MIDI, synths, and sequencers. That one class has 4 levels as well so it gets as advanced as you can get really. and thats just a very small part of the overall program

its an awsome course and its tons of fun, but the downside is that it costs $12,000 a year. By the time im dont the entire 3 year program ill probably owe close to &40,000

Well start to fart on with the programs and if you can't learn anything (which i doubt) then if you are determined enough try the scholl if possible like...i hope it workx out for u.
