better than The Theme not as good as The Opera Song.7/10

got tired of that vries sound.. dont like the track at all 5/10

Posted by FundeMentaL on Jul-18-2003 21:21:

It's pretty clear that Darren used some of the same samples he used in earlier Jurgen Vries tracks. And I have to say, I've heard it for four times now and I beginning to like it more and more...

It's a track that you have to hear more often, untill it sticks into your head. But there's no doubt this is going to be HUGE

7/10

I'm liking this - I dont care if people think its cheesy.

Posted by StalkerElmo on Jul-30-2003 22:58:

jurgen vries is quite talented and i'm not 100% impressed with his work now a days but this track totally changed my mind..

Posted by Redd on Jul-30-2003 23:21:

A little similar to The Theme yes, overall an ok tune. Don't know why, but the sound makes me think of the 80's *shivers*

6/10

Whatt!!! you certainly like shit songs.

But seriously Jurgen Vries is just the cheese alias of Darren Tate.

He told me that he was going to use Citizen Caned instead of Jurgen Vries but he didn't for some reason..OH well.

Down with Jurgen Vries idea.

Posted by chjo on Jul-31-2003 08:33:

Nothing wrong with this tune, little cheesy maybe.

Posted by Jesse on Jul-31-2003 11:52:

in six months this tune will certainly in the top 40, but i still like it anyway. It strays from the usual trance songs with an altered main string, quite similar to that of 'the theme'. But i liked the theme as well No, Darren Tate hasn't dissapointed me at all

Posted by DJ-Ande on Jul-31-2003 12:14:

allright tune, quite cheesey

not the best from darren tate

6/10

Meh, if Darren focused his efforts a bit more on less obviously commercial trance I'd be pleased. He obviously has considerable talent and I can't help but feel it's wasted on the Jurgen Vries audience. Especially since The Wilderness is going to get a vocal mix.

Jesus you guys don't get it do you. Tate has produced some of the most stunning trancers this year and yet all you can do is moan about this one track. What about 'Nocturnal Creatures', or 'Kota', or 'Prayer For A God', or 'Elevation' etc etc.?? There's some incredible tunes, but they get ignored because of one commercial project or because of certain crap UK radio DJs who ignore the quality tunes and go for the obvious. Darren is only one of many producers who have commercial projects - and why do these producers have commercial projects? because they're the only ones that earn them the living. Exactly the same happened when Darren was behind Angelic.

Plus on top of that people who say 'it uses a similar sound to the theme' - i mean - thats one of Tates sounds. Every other trance track uses that same filtered riff noises or strings thats been used since Out Of The Blue, yet NONE of them get slated for it. The Theme was totally original, even if it did get irritating once overplayed, but thats just ignored.

Anyway Ive ranted enough. Wilderness sounds great in clubs, and Tates on amasing form IMO. One of the most consistent producers ever.

Posted by MadMats on Jul-31-2003 21:19:

is it true that it is Mariah Carey that sings the vocal version?

or is that only false rumours??

Posted by Silver Blaze on Aug-01-2003 00:42:

wtf? i do not understand you ppl, this track is just AMAZING.

Posted by Psygnosis on Aug-01-2003 01:50:

Yes it is, thats because Darren Tate is GOD

Posted by fathomless1 on Aug-01-2003 02:09:

have to go with the crowd, everytime darren produces under the jurgen name, the songs are very similar. I do like the track though, not amazing but i like it;.

Posted by ASOT100 on Aug-02-2003 04:02:

the wilderness is aight, no where near as good as the theme tho

Posted by MaGiKaL_MiKe on Aug-02-2003 23:07:

after hearing it a couple of times its in my head and cant get out of it and I like more then when I heard it for the first time

Posted by Bortsta on Aug-04-2003 10:47:

Vocals are by Shena McSween btw. The vocal mix is a bit cheesy but not too bad: i feared it could be a lot worse. The instrumental version is very nice.

Posted by stamper on Aug-04-2003 14:19:

I think maybe the best tune under jurgen vries alias.

Finally puts that catchy synth to good use with a nice tune that is no where near as cheesy as his other productions.

8/10

Half cheesy this one, dissapointed by this what has he done to this. 6/10
