Armin van Buuren comes to both LA and SF in October.

Hey all,

Just finished reading Armin van Buuren's latest diary entry, and he says he is doing a US tour in October.

He goes on to state which venues are CONFIRMED, and among the seven he lists, 1015 in SF and Circus in LA are two of them. So get ready!

I think we all should try to get him to do a TA dinner in LA and/or SF (both would be the best ). He loved doing them in Montreal, Calgary, and Miami.

Armin van Buuren says:

I'm also very pleased to inform you, 76 will be released
in the USA on the 23rd of September. From October 1 I'll
be doing a large tour in the US and Canada. These are the
confirmed venue's:

Necto /Ann Arbor, Aria/ Montreal, Guvernment/ Toronto,
Dagobert/ Quebec city, 1015/San Fransisco, Circus/ Los Angeles
and Arc/ New York City.

OK, let me know where it's headed since you've taken the initiative of actually contacting before I had the chance to.

If you get nothing soon, I will pester him on IRC during ASOT or something

Eh, he usually responds to me....although last time I asked him a question he yelled at me....I was pestering him about his ATRC remix ... he said it wasn't personal though when I started to cry

Armin seems to be down with it all though. He's already accepted to do dinner when he plays in Chicago at the end of August. Note that in Miami, he wasn't there for the whole dinner and didn't even eat. He showed up for about 30 minutes, took pics, joked around, had a couple of drinks, and asked LOTS of questions himself from what I've heard. In all the cities he's done it at, he constantly egged the TAers to go nuts during his set having a good time with them.

Hopefully he'll be cool and do it here, preferably SF of course . SF is small but big so there's a billion places we could set it up at that can hold large amounts of people (that being around 20...getting more would be nuts!) that's nice and close to 1015 Folsom. Hell, we could even ask him type of atmosphere he'd like the place to be and book reservations.

Dave

1015 Folsom is very 21 and over.

I am going, no doubt....hell, if we get a dinner organized for LA only, I will go down to LA too

Get Wrecked, then Crushed

I was at Armin's last appearance at 1015 a couple months ago. I was loving what he was playing but couldn't stand the crush of people, so I left early. Next time I must get more thoroughly trashed so I'm oblivious to the claustrophobia.

Hmmm, I didn't find it THAT crushing. Nothing compared to the Mayhem that was Tiesto when he played at 1015 in November. The lines were sooooooooooooo long, at 11:30pm (going a few blocks in each direction...including the prepay/VIP line!)!!! Luckily we met a security dude some dude who was with us knew and he got us right in.

Trash Compactor

My problem is I'm always planting myself right up front, for trainspotting purposes (not as easy since 1015 raised the DJ booth). Real easy to get compacted up there, but I guess I ask for it.

The two most crowded events I've seen there are Paul van Dyk and John Digweed. I drove up from San Jose to see Digweed, and when I saw the line I turned right around and went back home. LOL

I actually have never seen Digweed live here...everytime he is here (when's that bastard ever going to play here again!?!?!), it's always bad timing. The audience for Tiesto in November crushed any PVD performances I've seen at 1015.

When Tiesto played at the Mezzanine in early June, it was so packed the fire marshall came (actually, about 20 of them) and the club was forced to start weeding people out because they were way overcrowded.....and this all happened before Tiesto even came on. I got stuck outside for 90 minutes, but luckily got back in right when Tiesto was coming on...waiting 90 minutes in the cold was worth it. That night was great. Got free entry, VIP, and free booze all night as I got the hookup for Sony (it was the PS2 Dual Play tour and I work on the media side of the industry)

Getting Tiesty

Oh yeah, I was at that Tiesto show at the Mezzanine too! As fate would have it, I'd temporarily quit smoking just a few days earlier, so I never went outside and got stuck. Again I was planted in front, but not crushed... I did notice a little commotion though a while before Tiesto came on (and rocked), which I later found out was the fire marshal shenanigans.

I realized three things that night...

1. Tijs Verwest is taller than me.
2. Josh Gabriel is shorter than me.
3. Tokyo Teas get me wrecked way too efficiently, rendering height and all other spatial and temporal dimensions meaningless.

LOL. I was just out back getting a breather....and we were told "go around to the front and you can get right back in." ... The fire marshalls were nuts. They were going in and if they saw anyone who looks too messed up, you were yanked.

1. heh.
2. SHIEEOT. He was there? DAMNIT.
3. The Midouri is good at hiding effects.

I Need Tokyo Teas

Yep, Josh Gabriel was there... that may be the one cool thing you missed: he loaned Noel Sanger a CDR of his remix of Dave Gahan's "I Need You" ... which Sanger played and Gabriel reclaimed immediately afterward. I only talked to Gabriel for like 15 seconds, but he said he'd just finished the production on the remix that day.

Hehe, I dunno about the Midori hiding any effects... all the effects seemed to be making their presence VERY well known. LOL

Dammmnn...didn't really have time to pay attention to that stuff. Was having fun with my date getting me smashed by pouring shots down my throat upstairs. BTW, Noel ROCKED that night.

And I meant Midori hiding the potential effects. You know, it covers up the taste of the alcohol well

Please note that PVD is not playing at Nocturnal Wonderland anymore. He cancelled that gig to makeup for his cancelled Boston gig. PVD has removed the gig from his site, and places where tickets for it are being sold (like Groovetickets) have also removed PVD from the lineup.

that would be so awesome

I would be very intersted in a TA dinner thing. Perhaps I could be of service too since my father owns several restaurants.

Also I'm interested in getting involved in the Norcal allience just respond with how i can get involved.

Armin has already agreed to a dinner when he comes to SF. Everyone seems to want a Sushi place since Armin loooveess sushi...and there's no finer sushi in the US than in SF.

"cough", "cough" "bullsh!t", "cough", "cough" hehehe,

LA owns sushi seen. Tokyo Delphs, Miyagi's Sushi, Yama Sushi(Moorpark) Kyoto Sushi(Chatsworth), Enchino's Sushi(Encino), Skyy Sushi and Club,

in SF the only one I really enjoyed was Sukiyaki on Fisherman's Wharf, but it's Very Expensive.
