Converting WAV to Mp3 ?!?

I need a prog. to convert wav files to mp3, so i can post the samples on the unknown tracks.. also, what kbps and Khz you guys use so they can fit under 500 KB ?!?

I've got such program. It's called Cdex. I' don't know where you can get it, but i think the big search-engines will find it.

i use winamp to do my mp3 to wav. and to make them under 500 kb i just use a program called mp3cut. i keep the kbps the same and just cut the track to like a 25 second sample. usually fits.

The way i make samples to post on here is to play the MP3 in something like Winamp or Sonique
then record 30 seconds of it in Windows Sound Recorder.
then useing Audio Catalyst i convert the wav file i made with sound recorder back to MP3 at 128kbits and 30 seconds worth = 500K
just the right file size to post samples on TA with

Musicmatch Jutebox is a great all in one program for wav to mp3 or mp3 to wav.

well this is a kind of final string method...and obvious...if all else fails u can just burn it on a RW then rip it...that is the long way home though

Actually with Adaptec v5.0 you can burn to a hardrive, so no cd is wasted. Haven't tried it though.
