Odd/Interesting E-Bay Vinyl Auction (Legit?)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=2545702310
Supposedly it's a Perfecto vinyl released in 98 that features:
A1. Mansun "Wide Open Space" (Perfecto Mix)
A2. BT "Fibonacci Sequence"
B1. The Dream Traveller "Time" (Original Mix)
B2. BT vs. Paul van Dyk "Namistai"
Now to my understanding Namistai was unreleased, and is only available as a white promo printed without a label (Discogs says the same thing). Discogs also says that Fibonacci Sequence was only ever released once, by itself, on the Headspace label. Both are very rare.
The guy hosting the auction says it's not a bootleg and that Perfecto is etched into the vinyl, but I can't believe him.
Any expert opinions?
fake.
HA - even better, he's offering FIVE of them on e-bay.
Yeah, I'm sure this is real.

Not real (I don't think....)
Namistai was not exlusive to a promo release however.
I have a vinyl from vandit with namistai, tell me why, and love from above on it; Made back in the days when vandit made good quality records.
Out there and Back also has Namistai, as does a vinyl album of BT (not sure which).
I just wrote him an e-mail saying I'll be telling the winner's of all the auctions not to pay him. I'll just give them the discogs links showing that Namistai and Fibonacci Sequence were only ever printed separately.
If someone is willing to register a fake e-bay account and win every auction (with no intent to pay), that'd be awesome.
do it ur fucking self!
or how about just leaving it?
I mean the artists who made these tracks obviously don't like making any money - or they would have had larger pressings. If they didn't want people to pirate their music they should have made sure than anyone who wanted to buy it could.
So why not just let him sell these bootleg vinyls? Unless of course there arent even any vinyls and this is a scam or something.
I wouldn't care if he MARKETED IT AS A BOOTLEG. He's leading people to believe that the vinyl is an OFFICIAL Perfecto pressing, which is bullshit.

For a start, NBY (Original) has been saved for the Reflections Album (u remember, just like he did with Face to Face on OTAB), and as for the other stuff he does not release such as reworks and re-edits, its all to do with legal reasons, not becoz he just doesnt want to. Example, He remixed Fischerspooner - Emerge which was a dam fucking great tune. However, Fischerspooner does not like dance music and refuses to let PvD release. A lot of the stuff that has gone unreleased was becoz of how Deviant fucked him over. So get ur facts straight before you go calling someone a greedy fuck for not releasing his tracks. |
if the people biddin knew the facts they wouldnt have in the first place...i wouldnt trust him though...
This guy sold me a fake northern exposure 2 cd on his old ebay account which got suspended. He then sold a box of 100 of them:

This guy does not respond to emails anymore after he made the sale. Also check his feedback. Why would someone just leave neutral feedback when receiving a bootleg cd???
Definitely do not bid on this guys auctions. Pretty sad how some people make their money.
For the person that asked, you CAN sell bootlegs on ebay.
hakky: that's sad
i know this is an old subject, but i ordered one of these off ebay recently, (the 4 track vinyl) the sound is really good, but all the tracks were just slaughtered, i mean he took all the tracks right off cds, all of them are not full tracks and they have the next track that was on the cd mixing in, just brutal, bts fabonnici sequence, is just pieces of the track spliced together, dream traveler cuts off and starts namistai before it reaches the end, on the bright side, i complained and got a full refund for shipping and everything.
