Fantastic doesn't even to begin describe that moment....

From the clapping in the breakdown of Fixation, to singing along with all of you to ATRC, and seeing the dancefloor jump as one when the beat kicked back in after the breakdown of my Schiller mashup, those moments are the stuff that dreams are made of and I'm still just toally blown away by how emotional it all made me afterwards, but you guys have made a deep impact that's for sure...and I thank you all (awww) *hurl*

hehe some of the rough tracks I can remember playing and in rough order:

Karada - Last Flight (markus schulz remix)
2 Players vs Elizabeth Fields - Signet Sympathy
Jewel - Intuition (markus schulz remix)
Chicane - Don't Give Up (tomski vs disco citizens remix)
Planet Funk - Who Said (planet funk club mix)
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (pvd dub)
Chris Fortier - Whatever It Is
DJ Tiesto - In My Memory (airwave remix)
Andy Ling - Fixation
Gabriel & Dresden pres. Motorcyle - As The Rush Comes (sweeping strings mix)
Schiller vs Martin Luther King - I Have a Glockenspiel (peekz's mashup mix)

I think one line can pretty much sum up the night for me....

....there's a coldness in the air....but I don't care....

Thanks to everyone for coming down, to Diggs, Morro, Liquid M, & Happy for mad sets and Lish, you blew me away with some of your mixing man, was awesome to watch

So glad to see trance back in canberra for a change!!!!

Im soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo upset that I didnt make it.

As you may of heard, I got a call form Marlos GF at 10 sayingcome to xyz station at 12:30, well go from there, sweet, I was pumped. Showered, changed, packed a clean shirt for the morning and some other essentials, and sat down for a smoke whilst waiting for the bus..... when my front door opens and in comes my sister, whom I thought was just visiting on her way home from a friends place. She proceds to tell me that she had her first experiance with chems the night before, and was very scat.... I couldnt let her go home in that state, so alas, canberra was missed sooooooo not happy, but family first

Hope you all understand how it was, would of loved to of gone, seeing as I kinda organised it all and got all the ITMers motivated to go

see all you syders at H20 this week though

Posted by Romp on Jul-20-2003 15:54:

crap!

I really wanted to go... but the prospect of being up all nite saturday then not being able to sleep in my own bed and having to go back on Sunday and then play a basketball game just didnt apeal to me

Hopefully next time I can go down

congrats to the Altitude boys and the peeps who put them on in Canberra

Gotta say I had an awesome night, one of the best trance nights Canberra has seen in ages.

Gav's set was friggin awesome (thanks for the tracklist gav!) I've been keeping up with a lot of the new trance releases lately, and its a buzz hear them in a club setting on a thumping sound system.

Danced for the last half most of Diggs & Morro's set and loved every minute - not a single lull, beautiful.

Even sitting down and listening and watching everybody go off on the dance floor while i was chilling out was great fun - the track selection all night was something special.

The bonus was welcoming a good friend home from overseas and lapping up the awesome trance with him, which topped the night off for me.

Can't wait for the next trance night in Canberra!

Posted by mn8 on Jul-21-2003 02:35:

Yep - highlight was definitely when Gav dropped ATRC.

...the whole crowd going bezerk and pointing up at him and clapping and cheering...

Nice dude.

Cheers,
Mark

OMG what a night!

Thanks to all the syd ppz that were able to make it down. It was great to party with you and hope Canberra was not too much of a disapointment.

Thanks to all the DJ's too, especially Gav for As The Rush Comes...will never ever forget that moment, about 15 of us yelling the lyrics at the top of our lungs and just going nuts. Hope you realise As The Rush Comes will be an official track requirement for every Altitude from here on in, now that we have finally hear it "out" we will have to hear it again and again .

The turnout was quite small but I think that was more due to the fact that we had a number of large events on that night. In a way it was better like this though as it was nice and personal for us and most of the dancefloor "belonged" to us.

Glad I bought the digicam out too as I dont think anyone else took any shots. Shall upload them in the next couple of days. Couple of great group shots lol

Only downside to the night was DJ Happy's set. Maybe he was having a very bad night or maybe he needs some DJ lessons?

Posted by lethal on Jul-21-2003 05:06:

That was one awesomely fun night!!!!

Too many awesome moments to mention - just totally fucking amazing!!! I was giving my usual mashed performance, along with the other gurners (Helen im looking at you!! ) and everyone was having a top time!!!

Gav your set was absolutley tops!!!! We'll have to get you up to sydney djing soon!!!!

Diggs & Morro - what can i say every time i hear you boys, i cant help but go off!!!! Never heard a bad set yet - u guys rock!!!! Bring on the next Halcyon!!!

Liquid M - always fun, and no doubt you blew the socks off the canberra crew with your productions!!!!

DJ Happy - um well lets just say excellent track selection but have you heard of beatmixing???? Its a really good way of avoiding train wrecks - just a suggestion.....

I apologise to everyone for my VERY poor performance towards the end of the nite but i was pretty fookin crook!!! I blame it on the Turkish food and the codrals i had at the beginning of the nite (it had nothing to do with the chems im sure!! )

Big up to all the crew who were there - Helen, eddie, ally, webby, sid, wade, dylan, gav, diggs, morro, mike, marlo, rach, lisa, sarah, and everyone else who is just a blur in my mind!!!

Oh one thing - why didnt someone tell me there was a backroom????

Posted by lethal on Jul-21-2003 05:33:

Oh and helen ive got a feeling i probably beat you back to Sydney!!! hehehehe Go Greyhound!!!!

Eddie please tell me you got pics of Helens AWESOME cage dancing!!!!

Posted by Sid on Jul-21-2003 07:39:

finally surfaced..........

have had about 6 hours sleep since Saturday afternoon, when my road trip began and my head is still fairly heavy.

What a weekend !!! I'll begin by saying a big thank you to all the Ta/ITM crew that made the journey from Sydney to Canberra you guys were just the best and I enjoyed every second that we spent together, from the Turkish restaurant to the wee hours of the morning at the Babylon nightclub it was just a pleasure !

To Joel, Lisa, Rach, Lisa, Hugo and Edgar sharing an apartment with you guys was sooo much fun, we had soo many laughs I dont know where to begin....hope to catch up with you all at the next Halcyon. To Helen and Eddie, I simply dont know two chicks who party as hard as you guys ! from cage dancing, to jumping up and down like absolute spastics !lol it was just so much fun watching you guys...hope to do it all over again in the near future. To the rest of the Ta/ITM crew including Lethal, (we took up our front row gurning position perfectly buddy ) Beemer (thank you soo much for helping me find my hotel room, without you I probably would have passed out in one of the Canberra gutters !lol) Oztiesto and djway. Highlight of my night definately had to be ATRC. All the folks mentioned aboved singing at the top of our lungs "As the rush comes" was simply unreal and a moment I shall never forget. Agnelli and nelson - El nino also hit the mark for me really well.

What can I say ? awesome trance with soooo many awesome people ! thanks again people... hope to see you soon

Tell me about it, i was worried like a father the whole time she was around the cage. She was doing somethings in there I don't think it's EVER seen!

lethal:- I told you near the end of the night didn't i (RE the back room). MY GOD did Mikah kill it, with WIKKID prog and sampling. (Webby, do you remember me SMSing u during PQM - While you were sleeping?). Lish, my god AGAIN, 2 mins before each mix, I don't think he knows records are 7mins+ in length....

DJ Happy was strugling, agreed, sometimes it wasn't his fault tho. A few times the needle skipped on him, due 2 the lighting (and I use that term loosly) guy, smacking the desk enough to cause the needle 2 skip 1/2 the track.....

Full Review tonight/Tomorrow.

hey lethal - sif it was the food at my restaurant that made u sick pffffft...hehehe thanx to all who came there for dinner - meant a lot, even tho i was too busy to come hang at the table sid, i hear u r belly-dancer extraordinaire - am so disappointed i missed that *lol*

Gamemaster - Lost Tribe

no fair.. ive never heard this beyond my Oakenfold - Tranceport CD...

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Jul-21-2003 11:21:

I played it (but you're in sydney so )

Posted by webmeister on Jul-21-2003 12:30:

Wow that was just an amazing weekend!!!! Canberra venue was a bit weird, sorta like Jacksons on George if anyone knows that venue (which I wouldn't admit to anyway!! )

Aside from that though, the vibe, the people and the tunes all came together for a brilliant night! Sooooo much tunage it just wasn't funny... a lot of munted fun, and yes As the Rush Comes was definitely the highlight!! Gav you da man hahaha

Massive respect to helen, eddie, alli, sid, leigh, lisa & rach for the trip , gav, wade, diggsy, morro, marlo, mike, MAB (sorry dude forgot your name) and anyone else that I might've forgotten!! The whole family out in force!! Poor Canberra probably doesn't know what hit it hahahaha

And to those that know what I'm talking about, the tune that was in my head the entire weekend was Lange - Follow Me Not a bad soundtrack to the weekend!!!

Strong contender for the funniest moment of the weekend is the ridiculously stupid MC .. right during the breakdown of Veracocha - Carte Blanche, he starts shouting some shit about "grooving to the funky beats of DJ Happy" .. I kid you not!! Happy was busting out an absolute epic set of classics (Binary Finary - 1998, For An Angel, Gouryella - Gouryella, El Nino, Moonman - Don't Be Afraid, Transa - Enervate, Out of the Blue etc) and this guy's going "groove to the funky beats" What an absolute tool!!!

But thankfully he just STFU'd most of the time

Can't wait for the next Halcyon on August 1 .. it's gunna be a huuuge night
