Co-Production anybody?
Hi friends,
I've been producing for just over a year now, but have only started writing full songs throughout the last couple months. All the time before that was spent learning how to use Reason, which is still all I use at this point (v. 2.5) I plan on getting Cubase or Logic or something along those lines because I find that I can't get away from my synths and samples sounding too "computery", if any understand what I mean by that. But, there's a good chance that new software is NOT the solution.
Which is why I am writing this thread.
I'm looking for a production partner who's skills will compliment my own. I like to think that I write unique melodies, and develop distinctive song ideas. But I need help creating solid clean crispy 'professional' sounding synths and samples. As well, building dynamic & intensity within the song is something that I need to improve upon. I'm open to any and all creative input.
For an example of what I've done so far, you can download a recently written tune HERE (Link)
Its hosted at SOUNDCLICK.COM, so you have to click on the link to listen (I'm working on finding a direct download host, but in the mean time...)
Anyway, if this appeals to you at all, please feel free to PM me or email me at [email protected]
If you think my tune sucks ass, then just email me pics of your sister naked - thanks for your time.
Thanks!!
Trevor
there are many things that can be done. you can compress a channel to make it have that "criap" sound. also, the track could be cleaned up in the mix down of the final track, adjusting levels on certain channels and so on.. i too like you are a newbie to this but i feel your frustration.......... this technical shit kills the flow or what is going on in your head. they say that gabriel and dresden met on through a forum on line and started collaborating. email me and maybe im at your level.... to see what we is made..... whats the worst that can happen as long as we protect our onw ideas, hooks, melodies, and so on.
I see what you mean. I also think it's best for producers to work together. Many of the professional producers are doing just that!
For example Rank 1, Gabriel and Dresden, Sander Kleinenberg even consists of 3 people! It just works better.
I've been producing for 10 years now, quite a lot of experience you'd say. But I still have trouble to make my idea's concrete, if you know what I mean. I really is hard. We can all have a great idea, but to put that in music is really difficult, technically.
Well, if you need a hand, just let me know.
cheers
ps: the basic idea of your track is pretty good, IMO!
