Armin's enthusiasm

OK, so I know there's lots of Armin fans here at TA, I am one of them
but I personally am not just a fan only because of his great track selection when he spins but also his absolutely AMAZING entusiasm! Have you guys ever noticed this about him?? Yes he interacts with the crowd, but everytime I've seen him live, he has been so entusiastic during his sets. One time I was able to get in the dj booth during the 76 Release party in Den Haag, and it took like 20 mins for me to get a pic. Purely because he was so into his spinning/set that he almost forgot I was in there waiting for a picture!

I thought it was amazing!!
So those of you who have seen him in other places, do you agree with me that the energy coming off of Armin during his sets just incredible??

yeah he is always smiling and enjoying himself. and he just passes that on to the crowd.
sometimes (read it on TA here) he even joins the crowd to dance for a while! =>

He is so down to earth... and yeah has the best crowd interaction he rocked the crowd in calgary... dancing, holding up his cell phone while we all were screaming LOL!!

I agree. He _is_ the people's DJ. The energy of his music plus his enthusiasm is incredible. It makes for one kick ass party.

One can have great mixing skills or great track selection, and still be just an above average DJ. In my book, interaction with the crowd is the key differentiator; and it is Armin's enthusiasm, transferred to the crowd, that makes him a great DJ.

I was absolutely amazed with his Sensation White 2003 set , also I have to admit that his productions are nothing but class and special thanx for playing Laura Turner - Soul Deep (Signum Dub), that track is awsome !

You're spot on

When he was at Gatecrasher for a 8 hour set on the 26th of April he interacted with the crowd all night long.

I was stood on the railings at the back of the main room above the crowd and directly in line with Armin. It was amazing and it's good to see DJ's doing this!

that is was great dj's do, and Armin is a fantastic
dj no question about it.

Some dj's are so engrossed in what they are doing,
some barely lift there head up to see how the crowd
are reacting.

A good jock will always interact with the crowd, and
have enthusaism, thats why i like armin.
I know Fatboy Slim is non trance, he is the master
at this.

Some dj's can just be plain arrogant at times.

If i was in there league, i would want to have fun &
sign autographs and be down to earth

However, no DJ, absoloutly no DJ spins with more enthusiasem than Raja Ram.

Hes fucking insane when he spins its unbelievable...

I totally agree. When I saw Armin here in Sydney in March (and he was apparently ill at the time) he was totaly amazing. Each time I see this guy he blows me away. Really gets involved in the music but doesnt look like one of those ego maniac 'worship me' djs.

Armin is my favorite DJ for a long time, I'll never forget his 12-hour-set @ Club Eau, even if more and more people got a bit tired in the morning after 10 hours and more he didn't stop smiling and dancing behind the decks.

And at the end of the night, he got into his Golf R32 (!!!) with 3 gorgeous girls!

I've not had a chance to see Armin live but even the clips I've seen of him make me want to see him as much for his mixing as his just overall appeal to the masses. Much as I like PvD, 75% of the time he's got that "robot" expression on his face. Hell, just listening to Armin on ASoT's (wish I spoke dutch.. hehe) you can hear it in his voice. And taking the time out to occasionally answer english questions in english.. that's definitely class. Of course.. it helps he has a great radio dj voice. I'd try to get a job dj'ing on radio if I could speak that well. I remember how much I laughed that one ASoT (96, 97, 98.. somewhere around there) where he corrected the radio station announcer on the pronunciation of his name.
