Armin van Buuren WILL HAVE DINNER with the SFTA's
I just got an email from Dave Lewis his booking agent and he said that Armin is up for this meeting when he comes!!!!
ITS HAPPENING PEOPLE!
edit: lemme give you all some more information
basically we plan everythign and i contact them back telling them whats going on i basically got an email just like the one the chicago people did
essentially what will happen is we pick a place to eat, we will make an armin dinner roll call, and ill set the resevations after i email them back for a correct time!
but lets see some responses from the people of the west coast before this goes any further...
we do have about 4 months or so to plan this baby so lets do this right

My Dinner with Armin
I'm a noob TA, but I'm interested for sure. I'm totally unknowledgeable about good places to eat in SF... let's treat him to Jack in the Box!
How bout we take him to Louie's Bar and Grill in SF. There's a new weekly there, where they have DJs spinning while people eat their grub.
HOLY SHIT THAT IS FUCKING TIGHT, socal should get our act together

remember Armin won't really have time to eat, but to chat and talk with everyon. Just look for a cool place and gather a nice amount of TAs. We had 30 here in Miami.
all the best,
artur
There's Buca de Beppo (I know I spelled that wrong) on Harrison St right between 4th and 5th. It's literally 3 blocks from 1015 Folsom, where he's playing. It's a place that's meant for large groups, too.
It's a place that can be hella packed, though. But they do take reservations. The food is overrated there, IMO....but this isn't about the food.
If it's early enough, Gillians at the Metreon could work, too. Not sure how they are on reservations. Another noise place.
One thing that's common here is that just about every big hotel has a nice restaraunt in it and tend to be quieter. If his manager could tell us which hotel he'll be staying in once it's booked and if it has a good restaraunt, it could be a good place to go ahead and book.
I'll ask around. Personally, I think it'd be real nice if we found a place right on the Embarcadero (the bay)...great view!
Think someone should maybe mention this in the Music discussion area or Chill Out area? Not all Bay Area folks come in here...

Dave email me with date and time this is happening ASAP. Also need to know how much time will Armin have to hang with TA's. My friends father owns an up-scale Stakehouse type of restaurant just outside of SF, I think near Tanforan Plaza, takes me about 20min drive from my parents house in Richmond Disctrict, even closer from downtown SF. The Restaurant has a main dining area, a huge capacity reception/dining hall, and a completely separate reception/dining room with capacity of 65 for sit down dinner and still room left over for a band/dj set up and a dance floor. Anyway, email me asap and I'll can give you more info on it. It isn't that expensive either.
Better yet, hehehe, we could rent out the huge capacity reception/dining hall (capacity of about 350-500) that already has intelligent lighting set up and a nice sound system, and just hold Armin hostage and make him play only for TA's, screw 1015 Folsom, hehehehehe LMAO!!! j/k
[email protected] Cheers..

Photo_bot_2k1, can you find out? I actually need to know as well because as of right now I'm set to be in Tokyo at the very end of September and don't want to have to be jetlagged as hell if he plays here at the beginning of his tour. DJ Tranz, where exactly is the restaraunt? The last thing we want to do is force Armin to go way out of his way just to meet us. The closer we are to the club the easier it would be for Armin and the more time he could spend with us. |
no date is currently set for his tour in october
and the buisness about hotels might or might not work becuase he might jsut fly in and out without stoping to rest like the trance ninja that he is
i had alredy replayed to dave lewis about specs about what is happening but somethign thats 20 min out of the way might be way too long
remeber he is only poping in and out like arturo said
the idea of things close to 1015 might be our best bet
personally i like the hotel idea but thats going to be somethign to deal with when they plan this out MONTHS later
the idea is to have nearly everything set up 10 days beforehand so dave has time to make sure armin gets there
essentially we can acctually have plans and backup plans if things fall out of place and screw up and then we make reservations after everything is set 10 days prior to his arrival

| Originally posted by DaveT OK. Just let me know when you get more details. I will look around. I'm sure I can find a cheap, nice place that's not REAL noise (note that this is SF...none of the popular restaraunts here and stuff....and all the good places tend to be hellza packed on weekends)...but I will try to do my best. BTW, didn't you say in some other thread you were under 21? (It was something to the likes of, "I can't wait until I turn 21.") I could be mistaken. Just think it would suck for you to go through making all these reservations to only see Armin for a little while and not even get the chance to hear him play. |

| Originally posted by DaveT LOL...you just need a fake ID (although 1015 is decent at detecting them, I still hear about people slipping by....not saying that's right...but just saying). |
dont even try a fake id....if you get one, ur gonna need one that is in the $500+ range. I bought a $100 scannable ID, but it didnt "feel" right according to the bouncer @ 1015, and he took it away. It was embarassing because I was walking in with Quivver because I had just met with @ his hotel, and it was embarassing to be in that situation in front of him.

My friends and I tried taking a visiting friend from Poland to 1015 once, and they wouldn't accept her Euro ID. It did look like it could be easily faked though.
