Which one? Help you guys for the sake of me and other newbies

2.2kg torque, lcd screen,

Same torque as SA2400,cureved tone arm and i want to scratch.Plus, blue!

Unstable platter,good looks,1.6kg torque

Best sellers in uk,1.6kg torque and not keen on the looks.

In my opinion, the Stanton STR8-80 is your best pick, I hear great things about them.

Stantons...Well i've heard that they have platter problems like when you touch the platter lightly it stops.... and there far to sensitive.

Depends on the torque.

Id say go for the Stanton. I haven't heard that much good about the Geminis.

I've got the Stanton st90 and I have no idea about the platter 'problems' you're talking about It's a great table

Posted by Martin McG on Jul-23-2003 19:04:

from what i hear the numarks are supposedly solid tables with very decent torque!

the looks arent really that big a factor for me cos i dont really bother about that aspect of them,

but to completely contradict myself: those blue geminis look awsome!

Posted by Matty28 on Jul-23-2003 19:14:

Lol, yeah....the word i would you for those blue gems is "different".Still, why are the stantons better when they only have 1.6kg torque and the gems 2.2kg of torque. The black gems look wicked compared to the stantons.Still confused on what to get

Posted by djlemeir on Jul-23-2003 19:56:

dont get the geminis. there not solid

I'm a begginer and only gonna be spinning in my bedroom "bedroom dj" So will the stanton str8-80's make me happy for what i'll be using them for (stratching and mixing) or will i have problems and wish i had saved for ttx1

Posted by jamiepollock643 on Jul-23-2003 21:55:

Hello!

OMG GET THE STANTONS! the others are no where near as good i have friends which have all thse and bsiodes my technics the stantons are the best ones, the black geminis just feel cheap and look it to,the blue gemini wud be the second best pick! but def get the stantons man trust me u wont be sorry!

Posted by ludeboy12 on Jul-23-2003 22:58:

yo i would have to say go with the blue gemini....

i used my boys sa2400s for a long time till i finally got my tables and i never had any problems with them....i thought they were nice tables...

i always like the looks to the blue geminis though....of course i didnt end up with them as i got TTX1s instead but at any rate the blue sa2400s would be plenty fine for bedroom use....

if your gonna be scratching (just scratching) get the strantons if your gonna be mixin/scratchin go for the 200's the 200s come with both tone arms (strait and curved) which you can swap depending apon what your doing, i myself am going for the numark ones for this reason, the stantons will wear out your vinil much faster then the numark, anyways thats my advice

Dude, you stated 4 threads about this.... It seems that whatever it is you're looking for is not found in any of these tables. Save your money for the top end stuff like the Techs, TTX-1s or the PDXs. That way, you know you got the cream of the crop and you'll have less chance of having buyer's remorse.

Like I've said earlier, I got the TT-200s and I'm very happy with them. I admit, the Techs are the best lookin decks (especially the black 1200/1210s), but these look great and trust me, pictures doesn't do it justice. BTW, the top is made of metal & the black portion is rubberized (quality look & feel) and the bottom is rubberized like the TTX & Techs. My advise? Try them all out and make that decision yourself.

I have to agree here. Save up a little more and get quality decks. I have the PDX-2000's and love them. I've played around on Tech's too and think they're great as well. Why not start off with something good that you can continue to grow with?

I was thinking long and hard last night and the tt-20 would be the cheapest and best opion as it has the same torque as the stantons but with the changeable tonearms.Stantons cost more too in uk about 30 which is not alot but its there.Stanton does catch me eye more than the numark though. The best deck then i rekon for under 250 is the numark tt-200 even though you could never use it in any club cos its just not club material from what i've heard.tt-200=bedroom setup tx1=bedroom and club setup.those geminis have better torque than both of these decks

If all you're interested in is the torque, then buy those crappy geminis...

Posted by Matty28 on Jul-24-2003 10:29:

Well torque does not really matter...aslong as it holds.Just that those geminis are only avaiable for 2 weeks in one store in uk.I'm now thinking to save up for the ttx1....but it will mean i have no mixer or records. Is it possable to hook a tt straght to your hi-fi instead of to your mixer? If i carnt do that then i will need a mixer

Posted by Matty28 on Jul-24-2003 15:31:

Big Ears

?

Posted by TwiloThunder on Jul-24-2003 15:44:

If you're basing it on looks then personally I think the blue Gemini looks like an I-Mac meets a turntable... Possibly something down the line for Apple?

Imo go for either the Stanton or Numark mixers. Both reliable and many DJ's on this forum seem to be happy with them

Posted by Matty28 on Jul-24-2003 16:29:

Dont like that blue lol.Its outta the stanton str8-80 and the tt-200 then.Ermmmmmm.....
