New Set-Up, Need Carts/Advise

So my new set-up was delivered yesterday...

TT-200s
Matrix 3 Mixer
Axis 8 CD Player
Sony V6 Headphones

All I need now is cartridges and after searching and reading and searching and reading I am more confused now then I was before.

Let's say I have eliminated Orfotons from the choices.

Let's also say in a perfect world I would pick up the Shure Whitelabels.

I WILL NOT be scratching.

Knowing that I have $100 GC to a store that carries Groovemasters, what is the feedback on the Groovemaster II RM?

How do they compare with some of the more preferable carts?

Are the Whitelabels Spherical or Elliptical?

I know Elliptical is good for recording, but they also seem good for mixing/trance DJing.

Is it bad to go from an Elliptical to Spherical or vice versa? For the records?

Please do not turn this thread into a save your money and get Whitelabels/Ortofons.

If the Groovemasters are a step below the White labels then I'll buy 'em. My gift certificate will pay for one of the 2.

I have eliminated the trackmasters since I have read nothing but bad things about them. Are the Groovemasters closer to the Trackmasters or closer to the White labels?

I did a search and read to half of the 153 posts that included the word cartridge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Elliptical produces better sound as the expense of traction. Since you mentioned you don't scratch, I would recommend elliptical. Elliptical also causes less wear on your records.

and the WHitelabels are elipticals right??

I'm gettinga pair of Shure WHiteLabels, and a pair of stanton skIIs, b/c the whitelabels are for me, and the stantons are for when my friends are using the TTs. get 2 pairs for that reason.... it's quite the good idea.....

get some cheaper Ortofons like concords er something that u know are good quality, and good for mixing.

I'm not too educated with carts, but I do know what I'm getting.... opinions are helpful right? lol

Okay, with the overwhelming response on this post I was torn as to which way to go.

So in a perfect world I would have bought the Whitelabels. But at 110 a piece it is hard to justify when you only spent 160 on your TTs.

So I headed to guitar center and was going to pick up the Shure M35x at 50/each.

The guy there recommended the Groovemaster RMs which I was looking at anyway. But these carts were 230/pair everywhere I looked. He scanned the pair and they rang up ay 99/pair.

So I jumped on that. They were the same price as the M35x would have been for the pair.

just out of curiosity why did you eliminate the Ortofon carts?

They were 100-150 each and i got a pair of the groovemasters for 100 total.

When you only spend 160 on a TT, its tough to spend that on a cart...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought Elliptical caused more wear on your records than Spherical.
