The Minimalistix/Filterheadz combo blows me away everytime!!

Minimalistix are pretty good, yes they do tend to have a slightly cheesy sound but it's one that I'm able to tolerate. They released a shitload of tunes last year and pretty much flooded the scene. I haven't heard much from them this year besides: Minimalistix- Magic Fly (PPK Remix).

Does anybody know some new tunes they've been working on recently?

I like their sound, although the piano they use does tend to get a bit tiresome after a while. I like "Close Cover" a lot, only in the form of the original instrumental mix though, and their remixes of Redd Square - In Your Hands and The Traveller & In Motion - Believe are very good. However, they have done several mediocre remixes that sound like nothing more than recycled versions of "Close Cover".

Yea, I also like MiniMaliStix.....Thier stuff is good when played at 'big-ball-room' type places...The thing I'm confused about is the track 'a forest', its by MiniMaliStix and its known as 'a remake' of the cure's 'a forest'.....Blank & Jones have a new track coming out called 'a forest'....featuring the lead singer of the cure...what gives..?

Posted by Ian on Jul-26-2003 22:31:

about 3/10 good

Posted by xtr3m on Jul-27-2003 00:58:

Minimalstix must have the best lable out there: every track they produce is released with like 10 remixes.

Posted by Jakhira on Jul-27-2003 03:54:

Just so you know, their two biggest hits 'Struggle for pleasure' and 'Close clover' are both trance versions of classical music by Wim Mertens (Belgian composer) 'Falling' is from the 'Twin peaks' theme and 'A forest' is indeed from The Cure...

And they have an album called 'Elements'...

Their remix of Flesh & Bones' - I Love You isn't cheesey, rather it it has a nice dark feel to it

Posted by CrackedLcd on Jul-27-2003 06:57:

I think they are pretty good, but a lot the music they make isn't powerful. I don't wanna keep listening to there songs or it isn't the best ix of a particular song.

Posted by Gladius on Jul-27-2003 09:42:

yeah i like them too.
"voices for jana" is beautiful
and "water brain string orchestra" is very nice too!!

And Magic Fly is a trance remake of a 1977 synthesizer classic Space - Magic Fly. There are several remakes of Magic Fly of which i prefer Nalin Inc. '99 version.

check this

I'd like their style, but I do not like all their tracks.. just a couple one are really good, but the others are also consumable. Don't like their latest tunez so much
