Gwill Morris @ Sweetchilli

Last night saw me enter the dendy once more for Gwill Morris who is also known as Main Element, and 1/2 of Ogenki Clinic(James Holden being the other half).

Upon my arrival @ 1am, I was greated with some smells like Freelander being busted out by Trent Anthony. Trent's set was crazy, but very a very interesting experience. It went from trancey to deep and dark, with a little break being thrown in. Considering most DJ's work up, not down, I was a little confused. Trent, I'd say must of done this on purpose, as he's not a new DJ, and he's not silly either. By the end of Trent's set I was really hoping that Trent wasn't setting things up for Gwill, as with Gwill being known for producing on the trancey tip, and that's what I was there for.

Gwill rocked up about 30 mins early and had a bogy in the crowd, and a quick chat to the d00d from Infusion (OMG!). All too soon Gwill was up, and the melodies began. It was really good to see Gwill in the mood and groving about to the tracks, and enjoying the attention he was being given. Some of the tracks played by Gwill are below:-

Infusion vs Kate Bush - Running up that hill
Holden - A Break in the Clouds (Main Mix)
Infusion - Legacy
Dave Grahan - Dirty Sticky Floor (Sliencer(sp?) Mix)
Holden - Nothing (93 Returning Mix)
Nathan Fake - Outhouse

The last track was a new production by Gwill, called Time, and we heard the vocal mix. An amazing track, a combination of Take me down with A break in the clouds/solscite.

All too soon it was over and the man was back in the crowds dancing a bit more and being thanked. Gwill was rather poliet not to crack the shits after 1 guy continusly bumped the free standing tables and also just being a general drunk and being loud and rude

Casper bounced up after Gwill and took us down on a deep and chuggy session, with the odd vocal here and there. It was a tad deep for my ultimate liking, but it was still quite enjoyable. No trainspotting was done :P

Helen: Where did you run off to during the night?
lethal: Pleasure as always!
rest of syd.au.ta.: Where were you? (coughs*webmister*coughs)

Couldnt agree more it was just a top notch night all round as weve come to expect from the sweetchilli boys!!

Got there at 10:30 after having been at the silks club for a few cheap pres (i highly recommend it!! $3 for a bundy and coke, you cant go wrong!! and the musics not bad either!!).

Rocked up and was met by a pumping set from Robbie "Tight As A Nun's Clam" Lowe, which was just a top mix of prog, and tech house.

At the end of Robbies set Trent stepped up to the decks and as Djway said it was a slightly different set but still top notch...

Gwill Morris came to the decks and pulled out a set of pure prog trance which was all class!! The only downside that drunken wanker behind us but after coping my elbow in his ribs a few times when he lunged for the decks he got the hint, too bad it took so long for him to get the hint to shut the fuck up!!! Anywayz not even that wanker could dampen my spirits on the night (nor my slight over-consumption of spirits!! )... for all the syd.ta's that didnt show up u missed out on a great prog trance set!!! Sucks to be you....

Casper was up next and he was playing some great prog but it was time for a rest at last and i eventually ended up leaving about 5:50...

A Top Night, and am looking forward to the next sweetchilli!!!!! (As always)....

Djway : Always great partying with you my friend!!
Helen : Where the hell did you disappear to???? Hope weena, stu and co had a great nite!!
Everyone Else : Sucks to be you!!!!

Sorry dudes/dudettes, was intent on having a quiet night in .. needed to recharge batteries a bit and let the wallet have a rest... also was playing cricket today so needed to be awake and functioning

Sounds like a top set though, I'm kinda annoyed that I missed it

Bring on Friday

I'll be coming down for him down there (I think) (this time no rush back up either ) I'm pissed @ missing JZ down there, listening 2 him is just NOT the same. Gwill @ SC last night was just how I wanna see JH....I was talking to Gwill over the dex @ some point asking him about tracks and stuff....

What's the date 4 down there Beemer?????

Zabiela here was outta this world...i almost didnt go, but was convinced to change my mind at the last minute - am so glad i went, cos he blew me away - have never seen a non-tech DJ with that kinda technical skill before....ahhh, memories thank the lord that set was recorded....and yeah, too bad u weren't here - but u can make up for it with JH - Cbr is def the place to see internationals if u like em up close and personal

All im gonna say is that it involved me, vito, the tables outside (and up the stairs a bit), 2 rather large lines of speed and a 60-odd year old security guard......
