Chicane Easy To Assemble(second look)
Yo Guys...,
Back after quite some time(bear with me with that in mind ,at least
)
Guys when Chicane Easy To Assemble was released I remember many of us having mixed opinions,many were heartbroken,many thought it was too pop,some liked it..even I was'nt TOO impressed when i heard it for the first time.But,as i listened to it for the second time..it started growing on me..like nothing before !!This album (in my opinion now) is AMAZING,Nick pulls it off yet another time.Especially Locking Down,spirit and East Side Story and ALL the other tracks..I can't stop listening to it(i have to admit I am a hardcore chicane fan,been so all thru)..I just had to share this with all of you and as this album has been released for some time now and the first wave has passed over ,I guess a new thread was justified as a second look...what do u say guys n gals ??

I've listened to the album numerous times now, and my opinion really hasn't changed much on it, I like a lot of the stuff, but it's easily Chicane's worst effort.
Empires and Something Wrong are both great songs and SW could even be made floor worthy with a remix.
Many of the other vocals are average quality, I like Daylight, Locking Down is good; it's just that I expect more than 'good' from Chicane.
At this point I'm just intrigued to see what kinds of remixes will happen, and if Nick's next album (assuming there is a next one) follows this pattern, or if he goes in yet another direction.
Originally when I heard that the album was going to be less dancy I assumed he was doing an entire disc full of stuff ala 'In Praise of the Sun' and 'Arizona', aka: utterly chilled out beauty, but this poppy move was rather unexpected.
I don't respect him less as a producer, or clamour for the "good old days" like some do, but I certainly enjoyed his first two albums more.
hey airscape2, are the lyrics in 'locking down' in hindi or some other Indian dialect?
I've decided that I actually do really like the album, with the exception of 'East Side Story'.
Empires is definitely a real gem and amongst Chicane's best work, I feel.
The album is great, im hooked. About the language on "locking down" I belive it is in Bengali, which is an indian dialect.
I really dont like it.
