Labour Day weekend events?

Anyone know if there are any good events going down on Labour Day weekend in Montreal? Any big DJs coming down to spin or something like that? Me and my friends need to party it up. Thanks.

The Guvernment/Kool Haus club in Toronto usually throws down a wicked Labour Day weekend party on the Sunday night. Last year they had Deep Dish, Danny Howells, Bad Boy Bill, a shitload of big Breaks Dj's, Armin Van buuren, Infected Mushroom, etc. this year Ferry Corsten and Dj Dan are confirmed with more to come. I'd suggest going there perhaps.

Cream is a pretty big rave in montreal. 514 productions are always quality and theres some good talent this year. 10 000 people is pretty sweet too. Id go there.

Bell Center can accept only 6500 people for a rave concept.

lol....oh yes, I love them.

Labour of Love was pretty fucking insane last year, but they've promised to cap it this year to a reasonable level...at least reasonable on the scale of big holiday weekend parties at least.

Last year was stupid though......over 9,000 people in a venue that's stretched to fit 5,000. And I heard they even paid off the fire marshall when they came to shut the place down.

Bullocks !!

last year at the guvernment the music was great, but if you've ever been in the guvernment main room, on a busy night it should take you no longer than 5 minutes to walk all the way around it. i was looking for a friend of mine and it took me an hour just to walk around the whole room!!

i'd love to go see a line-up like that again but it's not worth it if it's going to be like that again.

I heard there were many more people than that at Celebration this past new years.

how is this bullshit? This is exactly what I was told a week ago when I phoned the Guvernment management office. The lady told me it will be a "reasonable" crowd level, considering it was Labour Day weekend.

Of course their going to say that! What else are they going to say?! Yea its gonna be rammed like crazy, just like last year?!

Bottom line is this, money talks and shit walks!

If the demand is there then they'll ram that place up like crazy!

Personally, I dont think that will happen as this years lineup isnt even half as good as last years.

oh....well if that's the case, I'll start practicing my 911 dialling skills. If they're stupid enough to let it become chaotic like it was last year, then by all means, they can do so. but what are they going to do when me and my friends dial 911 and demand they shut the place down? The Guvernment isn't going to look too hot then is it?

Imposible, Bell center is good for 6500 people!
Police at the door!

Smitty...they're just covering their asses. Really, there was no point in calling them to begin with - if they were going to pull the same stunt as last year, they would never ever tell YOU about it.

No offense, but this is Guv. Don't be naiive.

.

believe me Biggy. I've been to almost every 514 party for the last 3 years, and I know what 10 000 people look like. And I know there is police at the door. At the last Cream I never had been searched so bad in my life. They even made everyone take off their shoes. There is a 6500 seatting capacity at the bell centre for games, but 514 sell as many tickets as they can and ram the place as much as they can. Besides most people using the seats. Cream 3 years ago at the olympic stadium was estimated 75 000. Before 514 updated there site like a year ago they use to post how many people were at each party.
I was at that party and don't disagree with that number. I've never seen that many people to this day.

waaah relax there buddy, cream used to be a festival spanning over many day, so 75000 is the TOTAL for all the days of the festivities...

and 6500 seatting capacity at bell center for games?? you mean Hockey games? Cause if you do, its well above 20 000 But I don't think you can fit 6500-7000 on the ice rink.

this is my favourite weekend of the year 4 partying. Lots going on in Montreal this labour day. All u have to do is decide weather u like the feel of a club or big venue. My only choices would be Aria or Cream. I'm having troubles deciding myself. I like the vibe dj's give off in small clubs like Aria, but I like the assortment of electronica that is going to be at cream. hmmmmm
