MARK ROCKS!!!
AND THAT'S THAT

yup, mark o is grrrrreat! we are lucky to have him all to ourselves on TO
c'mon guyz, don't be greedy,us marko addicts in windsor need to see him too y'know!
WE LUV U MAAARRRKKKOOOOO!!
SHAYA, is that abdul and igor in the first pic??
My opinion of Mark Oliver has greatly improved since I first saw him at 2002 Labour of Love. He didn't play a good set (in my opinion) at that event and did not respond to the crowd at all. He was wicked at the Ferry Corsten ultraspin event, blew the house off for Tiesto recently, and he rocked in my home town two days ago at Club Phoenix. He did almost a 5 hour set in London on Thursday too, which surprised me. I saw that the door to the Dj booth was open so I just walked down and started talking to him. I got him to sign my Timeless Trance CD and we started talking Dj stuff. He thought I was one of the resident Dj's at the Phoenix, which was very amusing.
Once the club started to get rammed, I left and let him do his thing, but shook his hand and told him he should open for any European Dj that ever comes to any Canadian club. He's a world class Dj by far and he is really a very nice man once you talk with him. He's kinda like PvD sometimes though...all business behind the decks....and there's nothing wrong with that.
I saw him at Phoenix last Thursday and I wasn't all that impressed. His mixing was a bit distraction at times.
He did play a remix of "Where the Streets have No Name" tho, which I enjoyed, and the beer was good.
I'd probably go see him again if he comes to London again, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to see him.
I've always loved Mark. He lays down some sick stuff and it's always a pleasure to be graced by his presence.
Side note: I want his shirt with the little Brazil flag on the side!

I've seen him 4 times and every time he has played a different type of set from techno, uplifting trance to hard trance to dark house to some funk and even some brazillian shit. He's pretty diverse but I agree that he doesn't stick to one particular genre and that's he's "all over the place." His mixing sometimes....where he mixes one track, fades back, goes back and forth again, is kind of a pain, but it's still pretty cool.
I've enjoyed his set 3 of 4 times I've seen him.
Highroller
Dude stop Highjacking and post your anti-mark opinions in another thread...or I'll call uncle BUSH!
You say Mark hasn't found his style, You're saying that he'll never surpass the Toronto scene..Well, then you should know that I've talked to people as far as Hong Kong,New zeland,Germany, Ibiza and Israel that have heard of this man's ability and talent behind the turntables and would LOVE to see him Spin his magic into their souls.
Mark Does have a style...You just haven't felt it yet...As the song says: Don't think it...Feel it...

alrite, now some of u guyz r pissing me off, didn't we already go thru this in the post ur msg to a superstar dj or something...fack!
mark hasn't gone world wide?!? wtf??? buddy, ive talked to people in russia and they say they know about mark and his talent behind the decks! so wtf r u talkin about?!?!?
hes all over the place?!?!? ya...ur point?!? versitile..thats how a dj is supposed to be mate! and this is a mark rock's thread, u disagree? start ur own thread, and get the f*ck out of this one!!!!!!
sorry if i offended any1!
cheers
i wonder who's more die hard ..
Shaya with Guv .. or Malek with his Aria hehe ...
i have to support my fellow guvaddict shaya on this one
mark does rock...140percent...you need to hear him week in week out to realise what sorta talent this man has. In my opinon he has a gorgeous abiliity to know EXACTLY what the majority of the crowd is feeling that particular night and he goes with it....last night was a prime example.
as for the MO does not rock club....people are definately allowed to host their own opinion and while i dont share the hardcore words thrown out by guvyaddict over there, it does seem to me that you have not seen enough or heard enough of his stuff to have a perfect valid opinion.
Constant visitors to the guv for their spin saturdays have seen Mark change with the times beautifully, every Sat he gets better and better and better.
he ranks second for me behind only Armin behind the decks and is most certainly WORLDCLASS!!!!!!!!
p.s. think of what hes done for the city of toronto and its electronic scene....theres a good reason he doesnt "tour" the world.
ya maybe i was a lil harsh eh, i apologize, but i just don't like it when people don't appreciate mark, u know?!? i mean, mark has been rockin the crowds at the guv now for how many yrs now,10 yrs maybe, something like that...and hes still goin strong...and when people say,he hasn't found his style yet or whutever just pisses me off man, i dunno, maybe its just me,but thats just how i feel.

nobody mind guvyaddict,
he just wants to have marks babies,
but in all seriousness, marks insane on the tables, had me on my feet the one time i saw him (and id see him again and again if he came back to windsor)
Gotta Luv Mark
Thank GoD for MaRk coming to London. I saw him last thursday and had a great time. I have seen him spin many a time and yes on Thursday he wasn't spinning the way he does at the GUV....but he was still great. He played to the london crowd and that is what a good DJ does.. I for one am always impressed when I see him and thank GOD it was in london I get tired of going the distance in the Tdot and doing that drive back at 9 in the AM... The man is well worth seeing for the 10 $$ the GUV charges....hell I've given more money to see some DJ's and walked far more pissed then I ever have from Mark..
ANyways Cheers...
