Congratulations to Elemance! GDJB Winner.

Congratulations to Elemance! GDJB Winner.
A big Congratulations to Elemance (Cameron Marsland). He is the winner to our GDJB "Break out of The Beedroom" contest. His set will air oon Aug 11 alongside DJ Tiesto. Congratulations and we hope this will help give you the recognition you deserve.

And a very big thank you to the other finalists. You guys made our week very difficult with so many great sets to choose from.

Darren Adam - England (Amazing set of solid prog! and very well mixed)

Joseph Anthony - Florida (Nice set with a wonderful tracklist. We loved the Thomas Penton unreleased tunes, fantastic! FLORIDA representing!)

Saul Bueno (Mimick) - Florida (This set was right up there, it had some of our favorite tracks of the year on it, great taste in music!)

Andrew Karabatzakis (dj Andrew K) - Greece (G Pal has some company in representingt Greece. This set was chalk full of energy. Nice mixes and a solid tracklisting to boot.

Michael Mclean - Berlin (What can I say about this set, it was my favorite to win on the last day. Very close. Keep up the great work and keep the mixes coming)

Tim Penner (DJ Tygon) - Canada (This set was the frontrunner after we posted the top 10, we kept saying that this will be the set to win. Intense energy. Amazing set.)

Shehryar Qamar (Spective) - California (This set will be in my car cd player long after the contest is over. Great mixes and great track selection. I am sure at somepoint Spective will be featured on the GDJB. Too much talent here.)

Martin Swanholm (Hauki) - Denmark (This set was very good as well, It sounded exactely like a set that you are supposed to play when opening up for Tiesto or PVD. Another solid entry and a reason for Denmark to be proud.)

James Yoonseok - Canada (You can tell this set was really well thought out. It was another set of solid proggressive. Canada representing!! Keep up the good work, you can tell there is alot of talent there by listening to this set.)

Nothing but props to Elemance for winning. Although I did want to be the winner, my attitude was mainly to just be glad that 1 of us 10 would be getting some huge benefits out of being featured on the show. Ive been paying my dues for a while now, and the first thing you are told when you mention you want to DJ at clubs/raves/massives is that you need to PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE yourself. As egotistical as it sounds, you need to give people a reason why you are better than the rest of the pack.

I really would like to thank Markus and Heather for providing such a rare opportunity for us to not only expose ourselves, but to establish a sense of community within this contest. I know that I made a few friends within the finalists, such as Darren and Andrew. I was fortunate enough to have my first ever public performance as a DJ, on a radio station here in San Francisco called Wild 94.9, on their House Nation show, which was nominated for best radio mix show at WMC last year I believe. It definitely did help me get some of my gigs later, and I hope the same happens for Elemance.

And a few last comments, thanks to Markus and Heather for writing comments about each of the finalists mixes. It really did put a smile on my face, after only getting 1 hr of sleep before my 8am class today, and coming back to see that. Good luck to all of you who entered, be it finalists or not, and let me know if there is anything I can do to help the nu breed of DJs out. I am offering free hosting of any of your DJ sets for an indefinite amount of time.

Cheers
