Arc isnt for sale, 6 Hubert is. Arc's mailing address is 6 Hubert, but the property I believe is 4 Hubert. The building next door is actually 6 Hubert.

i KNOW the actual club is not for sale, i can read..i just posted "Arc for sale" cuz alot of people would wonder wtf i was talkin about if i said "6 hubert st. for sale"...obviously it's the building we're talkin about. and obviously it's the club we're worried about.

...until i get confirmation that what you said is true then, this is still pretty scary, especially if there are people out there interested in buying..

18 mil, lemme see if I got that. *checks pockets, finds 80 cents and a stick of gum* Is that equivalent to 18 mil?

That is bad news for Arc, because if a smart business investor buys the property next to it, and turns it into high income rent, Arc will go bye bye as a result. Ian.... want to buy this space?

Ok I'm working this summer for Citigroup. When going down the West Side Highway, some of you might notice the building with the big red umbrella. That's 388 Greenwich St., right around the corner from ARC.

In any case, I had to be at that building this morning for a special breakfast. I was early, and took the liberty to walk past 4-6 Hubert St.

What I saw was a big white "THIS SPACE FOR LEASE" sign, and the Sivin.com logo on the bottom. But here's the interesting part: the only details of the building described were regarding the available space of the 2nd and 3rd floor. There was NO mention of the first floor, which ARC resides in.

Someone who's in the know with real estate, fill me in: is that a good sign, bad sign, or is that just me looking too much into it?? It doesn't seem logical that the other 2 floors would be described and NOT the first...

this thread is everywhere. i think the most logical replies are on naughtbooth. the bottom line is, you dont have any more to worry about than you did before, witht he luxury condos going up. arc's days are numbered and it has been well known for a while.

End of thread.

we already knew that John The area around Arc is being developed though which is bad news for Arc, because as more people move in, more people will start to complain about the sound and Arc will be forced to cut back on that Phazon sound, thats the real problem. This has already been a big issue for a bunch of clubs, most notably Roxy in Boston (in the Tremont Hotel) and Fluid in Philly where the neighbors call the cops to turn the music down. Hopefully Arc finds a way around this, but its not looking good.

From the words of arc managment.

Don't worry john you will be working here for a long time. The club is not at jerpordy so tell everyone Marco vs fleming is still on (chuckles)

The sign is for the upper 2 floors not arc (1st floor)

So if you don't believe me ask Nick or mike when you see them again.

the sign is that teh upper floors are for lease. that is different than owning the building. if someone new owns the building they could honor arc's lease or buy it out. what you quoted doesnt necessarily mean that the building isnt for sale, just that the likelihood of teh club closing is low due to a sale in the building, which is probably true. i think that the probability of the club closing when those luxury condos open is very possible. i give arc 2 years at the most.

I think they would complain more about the traffic. You really can't hear the club from the outside (in my experience). However the people that would live upstairs would probably complain. You would also have general complaints about having a club there anyways... regardless of sound. Rich people and their fucking investments...

Re: the building for sale, not a big deal. Its been up for a while, nothings happened yet. Were protected if it ever does.

Thanks,
Lxxxxxxx

^^^^^^^^^ that's the email i got back from the press chick @ arc...

i have no idea what "protected means" but it's apparent that the _entire_ building is most definitely for sale.

Posted by NYGblue on Jul-31-2003 23:35:

probably that the lease is protected by contract...

from ARC's messageboard...

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ARC MGMT.
We would like to address your posts concerning the real estate listing of 6 Hubert Street.

It is not unusual for commercial real estate in NYC to be perpetually on the market as most sales occur without incident to the tenant or disruption to the tenants ongoing business. Simple requests into matters like landmark status, zoning or otherwise are in no way an indication of a pending sale or even an active negotiation. In the unlikely event that something ever was to happen to our present address, arc would most surely continue on at a new and improved location. We do appreciate your concerns however, and your posts demonstrate yet again, that arc has been created not only by us but by all of you, the people that come every week to make each party special.

arc mgmt.
