HappyHappy House and techno for my party

Hey

I'm throwing a twodaylong gardenparty. The people who's coming,
my friends, are generally into electronic music. I want to
be a good host and get a variety of good electronic beats for them, preferably some good house and "soft" techno(not Chris Liebing nor Mike Humphries that is ).

Can anyone recommend me some good house compilations(general house, not progressive as it's not really good for the partyfeeling. You know what I mean? Better for comedown on sunday ) and some good "soft"techno compilations? I have no idea what I mean with "soft" techno, but I was at the SommerParade in Oslo the other weekend, and I were rocking to some some sweet ass house/techno, maybe you know what I mean?

I think you want some stuff that househeads call 'bouncy house'. I have no idea what that sounds like, but from the name it definately sounds like its made for a party.

So I dunno, do a search on amazon or something for bouncy house cd's and either buy them or d/l the tracks.

Hope that helps a bit

Maybe some disco/filtered house? I guess Crystal Method or Hybrid could fall into the "soft" techno category. Maybe some Electrostatic.

One of Carl Cox's essential mixes from 2001 has the most mindboggling house you've ever heard. Definitely try to find it, it was when he was at Club Space I believe.

That's some great spanish house
Else GU025 is a good one, and don't forget the afterclub mixes.
Remy - Bang (the album) is a good one too, great variety of music on one CD.
Hope that helps, have a good party

A good straight up house compilation is Roger Sanchez' "Release Yourself" 2cd mix compilation. Might as well go with the 2003.
And "soft" techno? There's such a thing? What did YOU eat for breakfast?
Yea I know theres such a thing...hmmm new release from Ministry of Sound called "Electro-Tech" judging by the tracklist it looks nice (obviously its going to have the tech house and electro hits of up to the past year - thats MOS) im sure it will do the trick.
These choices aren't particularly "original" but I think they're good choices for your garden shindig.

Bro honestly!!!!! This is hands downs the best advice you can get!!! I am a deep house junkie, trust me. Your party will be off the hook sexy and fun with this playing LOUD! Also people will be blown away with your taste in music. This is not the run of mill type commercial shit!

Pick up anything and EVERYTHING by Miguel Migs

Pick up Mark Furina

Anything by the Hed Kandi collection, especially Beach House

Anything and EVERYTHING by the Naked Music collection, this includes
Nude Dimensions and volume. One is mixed by Migs himself, NASTY!!

Either Lazy Dog cd, Vol one is best.

Barfly Vol 1 (FK Junior and Sindress) from Paris

Ian Pooley is great

The "Base" Ibiza CD's are great too!

Wow sick hosue tunes here bro!!!!

I would go with his suggestions. Miguel Migs and Mark Farina are great! And I love that Lazy Dog CD!

I would also suggest Steven Sacks or Rick Preston if you want good west coast style house.

Hello!

Thanks for great replys people!

I snagged a lot of your suggestions and played them, turned out to be great!
Oh yeah, and who am I to say that proghouse isn't partyable?? At high volume, deep baselines, aww really cool!

Party was smashing, still cleaning the house

I didn't know that outside partytents tend to be extremely flamable!

It's minimal techno/electro. But he scratches a lot and throws in lots of cool stuff. I enjoy his Mayday 2000 set and his Love Parade 2000 set.
