dont understand

the only thing i dont understand is if all dj's play their own produced music all the time? or can they mix it up with other tracks??
might sound dumb, but if ur a big name dj u owuldnt mix in venga boys with some ferry corsten track.

Of course there are no rules. There is only 1 rule in DJ'ing, It has to sound good.

Not even that rule stands. You can be a DJ and sound like utter shit... Some people will still like you.

besides that... Maybe that he plays alot better than the regular dj. His transistions and effects sounds way better than those of the normal dj... I think that's about it.

All true, in fact many might argue that there are a good number of DJs who actually mix better than big DJs but just are not famous.
In reality the "Big Name DJs" (like Tiesto, Ferry, Armin) got famous for their producing and because these guys are such big producers, they do end up playing a lot of there own songs and remixes (as you have noticed).
