Three Drives - Signs Of The Universe (Original Mix) [FundeMentaL]

Three Drives - Signs Of The Universe (Original Mix)

I'm a MAJOR Three Drives fan and I couldn't
wait for their new release, and now it's finally there.
Armin van Buuren spun it on ASOT episode 107.
Here's a sample for the people that haven't heard it yet:

Three Drives - Signs Of The Universe (Original Mix)

I have to say that I'm pretty dissapointed with the track,
it's missing the Three Drives-sound. If you listen to Greece
2000, Sunrise, Airtraffic...they all have this certain sound
that make them Three Drives. Signs of the Universe doesn't
have it.

I think it's pretty boring, constantly the same and it's just
TOO PROGRESSIVE for Three Drives. I hope there will be some
good remixes for this track, maybe this could save it.

Unhappy Three Drives-fan

3/10

its gonna be under the tangled universe guise it sounds like....

I agree that it doesn't have the distinctive Three Drives sound, but too progressive? If anything it's way too uplifting for Three Drives. The track is flooded with high, wide synths and lacks the distinct melody that most Three Drives tracks have, instead opting for a vague uplifting chord structure.

Three Drives it is not, put progressive it is definitely not either.

Tangled Universe - Message from the Universe

Uh, actually... Melodies (Message) From The Universe is from last year. This track is probably from the upcoming Three Drives album, because the next Tangled Universe single on ITWT is Rain & Thunder.

armin messed up 4 some reason....no way 3 drives are releasing that kinda sound under 3 drives...

No matter what alias it is released under, I still don't like the tune at all.

Was really disappointed, I have a lot of Three Drives tunes and all are quality. This one is just...bleh.

well, listening to the first time now thanks to that sample.

and i must say it isn't that bad. in fact i do like this a lot, impressed. combines the tech-edged side of Tangled Universe with the unique repetitive melodies of Three Drives in a good way. just the 303's are a bit un-necessary, but original at least. the melody is cool this way but seems to be repeated for a bit too long.

8/10, at first listen. opinion can change easily.

plus.. this is eveything but progressive

I think it's good but remember that artist albums tend not to be chock full of massive anthems. It only stands to reason that there would be some more understated tracks; this is likely one of them. I see what you mean by progressive, also. It's not strictly progressive in the sense we typically associate with the word, but the track seems to build throughout and really never breaks; eg, the bassline is constant. Still, interesting tune and certainly full of energy.

hmm.. i kinda agree there.. what makes this tune is the simple fact it's not a massive anthem.. just an ace filler. interesting track structure.
