Nyc Clubs Suck

i cant take it anymore there are no trance clubs at all exit sucks SF isnt the same wtf am i supposed to do to listen to trance?

anyone know?

how bout not go to shitty clubs like SF and exit!!! ever heard of arc or roxy?

lol, arc is not really a trance club per say....its more prog , house and tribal....roxy, its not even a trance club except when the big dj's come to town THERE ARE NO TRANCE CLUB IN NYC SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

NYC should definitely have a decent club by now... Twilo closed over 2 years ago... I dunno whats takin' so long

damn i never thought of this, its true.. but u gotta admit u got at least 2 KNOWN djs coming to ny every month.. so its not that bad compared to other states/countries.

prog = trance....

and roxy is a skating rink that has the likes of tiesto, armin, and PVD spin there...can't get much more trance than that.

I don't know if you know who I am,but,I am currently in the process of throwing a weekly trance party.
I had one going for a while,but,it ended...
At this point I am scouting out venues..
Have no fear!
Trance will be here on a weekly basis,I am making absolutely sure of it...
Give me a little time..
BTW,,any suggestions on what night might be good??

Hey I'm sorry I never got to check out your party. But definitely keep me posted! I'm thinking that Thursday would be a good night since most big trnce events happen on Friday and Saturday, so this way it won't clash with anything.

Oh and in response to mets4012's question, there will be a new club called Crobar coming in the Fall. I'm not sure if it will be totally devoted to trance but nonetheless it will be worth checking out since I hear that the Crobar's in Florida and Chicago are pretty great. But yea I think its due time that there is a new club in the NYC scene.

There's:

uplifing trance (ex. Fictivision vs. Cquence- symbols)

progressive trance (ex. Ofra Haze- Love song (Mystic Friends remix)

progressive breaks (I don't know as much about this genre. Ask Florian)

progressive house (ex. Kate Bush vs. Infusion- Running up that hill, satoshi tomiie- love in traffic (dark path mix), satoshi pres. ice- scandal in new york)

It's hard to categorize some songs because they have elements that overlap. Ok, there I did my best.

I don't consider Rpxy even a club really, since they only throw 1 trance party every 1-2 months. They can't do it more often because frankly, I don't think they can afford to. If you are looking at NYC from strictly a trance perspective I think that really only ARC comes close. NOw thats not to say that there are places that have Trance music, but none of them have it on a consistent basis. Arc might not always have a trance dj, but more often than not, they have a dj that will foray into trance/house/breaks/prog/EDM in general, which is better for the scene than nothing.

When you look at the choices (SF, Exshit) there really is no comparison, ARC has the monopoly in this town, but if a true Trance club did eventually open, I think Arc would be in serious trouble for Saturday Nights (excluding Fridays for Tenaglia/Howells of course)
