i'll ask markus tomorrow if he still has the tracklisting, if not then i'll just email omid himself and he should be able to ID it....

Well here is his response:

"Well, lets see of you can figure this out. The original artists name starts with an 'M' and the second name starts with an 'O'. And this track is an edit and rework from the original artist.
Speak later!
Omid"

well, that would be omid. First name is Michele, second name is Omid.

Now to figure out which track...

ok just ignore almost everything above......

the guy who emailed name is michele, I assumed it was omid, and his real name.......turns out theyre totally different people, and that michele is trying to figure out the clues as well, that omids giving him.....

they dont want to seem to give the track ID away easy.......

at this point im tired of searching/playing games.....

i hate that when deejays are so secretive..he will probably release it on his own label shortly.

Posted by SportTrance on Sep-11-2003 09:09:

This all would have been much simpler if he just told me he wasnt able to tell me. I could respect that. But jerking me/us around, not a good way to gain audience and isnt leaving me with much of a good impression.

It sounds like a trance mix of the soundtrack of Dune.
09 Dune - Prophecy Theme

that definitely helps a lot......

uses
- "foremost poets - moonraker" = acapella
-"Brian Eno's - prophecy theme" for the movie dune

pretty soon here we'll be able to make the track

E-mailed "Omid" or whoever responds to his e-mails again. Its been 6 months since I last e-mailed so perhaps I can MAYBE get some release info if any.....

Doubt it though.

I read in an old interview with Steve Gerrard (of Wrecked Angle) that they made a prog tune with the Moonraker acapella which was never released. Wrecked Angle are known for doing bootlegs so maybe that's your tune. Here's a link to their homepage: http://www.wreckedangle.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/home.html

I'm just guessing though.

Lightbulb

I can tell you for sure the synth in the background is from the movie Dune.

Its the prophecy theme.

and this dj is just laying a beat over it..

if you can access IRC come to #tstp on Quakenet (uk.quakenet.org) and ill send you the track

Thanks, but if you read the thread you'll find out that we knew that already.

I seriously doubt that Omid is capable of matching an acapella, the Prophecy theme and beats (with a perfectly fitting baseline) like this in a live situation, considering his djing skills are rather mediocre.

no its not one track but two.. im sure of it..

it just doesnt sound right
