It's obvious that the guy is modest, and that he likes good music!

Posted by DarkViper on Aug-04-2003 05:12:

I do not like DJ Dean at all. But at least this CD, although I didnt listen to it, doesnt look THAT commercial/cheesy from the tracklist as those newer Tunnel Trance Force CDs.

In germany you could say trance is really underground because most people say trance to "Groove Coverage", "Special D", "Scooter" and "Jan Wayne" and only a very few know what trance is for real. So you can easily say that this CD is some underground stuff in germany.

Posted by sanya02 on Aug-10-2003 05:26:

underground or not...this cd is defintely hot along with all the other tunnel releases

Posted by arctic on Aug-10-2003 05:56:

ttf ARE HOT - ESPECIALLY the latest ones.
Vol. 22 is pure GOLD. 24 is also very good. Haven't heard 25 yet.

Tunnel Trance Force is my favorite CD series ever.
It is a GREAT series with a lot of energy that always gets me excited (and countless other people, too).
I LOVE it and will NOT let anyone say anything bad about it or anything related.

Posted by arctic on Aug-10-2003 06:54:

Well i just did say something bad about it and i didn't see you stop me

ttf is shite, i'm sorry, but they are full of cheese!

I mean, did you see the tracklist for the last one, there was like one decent song on it. I dont have the tracklist handy, so i cant point out exactly which parts i didnt like, but if you do, then im happy to discuss it in a non flaming way

Posted by Teknikol on Aug-10-2003 10:53:

lets start a poll:

should we stop eugene for posting this shit, yes or no?

Most definitely... not!

True champions are the ones who constantly push the genre forward and are innovative or have in some way in the past influenced the genre so that it has become what it is today.

Now I don't have any opinion on the guy since I have not really heard anything from him (it's not my preferred style anyway but that's not the point) but a champion he is not. Being good does not automatically mean being a champion.

First of all, if you "have not really heard anything from him", then please do the world a favor and shut the fuck up.

Secondly, DJ Dean is the "champion of trance" already because he deals with and mixes more trance vinyl per any given time period than any other DJ in the world. I can safely tell you that.

Thirdly, who are you to say he's not "innovative"?! It all depends on what styles you prefer.

Fourthly, even if the whole Hamburg team were *not* innovative (which they are), their tracks exude such power, energy, and beauty that quality would be more significant than being "experimental" or other shit like that. Remember, professional musicians write music for others, not themselves.

SUMMARY: Fuck off, along with all the other eltists.

I try to be sensitive and all I get is abuse.
You want to play rough? Fair enough...

I believe I still have the right to write whatever the fuck I want whether you like it or not. I don't believe I said anything that would be worthy for you to write a response like that (I'd understood it if I had actually bashed your God without any point but I didn't) but since you're obviously a fucking tool who likes to bash people for no apparent reason I'll just leave it at that.

Firstly, Dj Dean isn't even SPINNING trance so how can he be a "champion of trance". He can be a champion of euro hard dance (or whatever the fuck you want to call it) but he has nothing to do with trance. Whether he spins "Mr.Vain Recall" more than other dj's is kind of irrelevant.

Are you blind, dumb or both? I think I stated the innovativity thing pretty well in my first post but I guess you were just bound to miss it. DJ Dean is a trend-follower. He doesn't push any genre forward. Now that doesn't mean he sucks or anything since most of the DJ's are followers but just because "they spin more vinyl than others" does not make them champions. It's about quality, not quantity.

In other words they have a formula that they replicate to death until they find a new formula to use. Whee.

Remember, professional musicians write music for others, not themselves.

Pop artists write music for other hoping to make cash. Professional musicians make music for themselves and other people STILL like it.

Summary:
The only elitist here is you. You will not take any criticism on board OR will allow people to have their own opinions, instead you want everyone to like whatever you like and the rest can just fuck right off.

Get a fucking clue. The world does not spin around you.

I think he does to be honest. He just manages not to be bound by any genres, clichs or stuff like that more than his collegues tend to manage. If he wasn't making music for others, what would be the point of releasing it?

i read in an interview that he doesn't.. he's not concerned with what other people think about his productions, he's just doing what he feels like doing.. therefore he also said he was surprised by the amount of positive feedback he has received over the past few years.. he produces for himself, he produces what in his ears sounds alright, and not to please a particular crowd..

If he doesn't, then obviously that's not the way he earns his living.

People have to get bread, you know.

BTW, how can you even say some record is "commercial" when there are like a few hundred copies of the vinyl released by some obscure label???

First off, note the ': P' beside it. It's there cause i was chatting to him awhile back etc...long story.

Whenever you have trouble winning an argument, which is what you've turned this into, you just resort to petty flaming!

Point out where i abused you, swore at you, resorted to name calling etc in the above posts!

You can't, and that's because i didn't, i simply discussed it in a calm manner. Instead of addressing my point and acting like a civilived person, you decided to have a flame war and call me a "mother******".

If you set out to do that, then well done, hope you feel all the better for it!

for all we know he could be having a job besides producing.. i.e. ralphie b. is an electrician.. also mirco de govia has a full time job.. only the big ones (m.i.k.e., armin, tiesto, ...) are able to completely rely on their music..
