Soundproofing
Is there a way for me to be able to soundproof my room without spending like thousands of dollars on someone to do it for me? I wanna soundproof my room by myself with a pretty decent budget but i dont know how....can anyone help me??
thanks!

Mum keeps telling me to stick egg cartons all over the walls. hahaha
I was at guitar center they had like this insulation in a roll, if I remember correctly it works really well, well at least thats what the guy told me, but how u apply it I do not know.
Well short of buying a whole bunch of foam and sticking it to the walls, or surrounding the room in a vacuum
The best suggestion i have is to put up curtain rails all the way around your room and hang some heavy felt or velvet drapes. Premade ones are quite expensive but you can doa botch job yourself by buying a shit load of felt/velvet double it over and sew up it up. For extra effect, you can try stuffing them with foam sheets.
i don't know if this is what you are looking for but i think it might be it's for acousitc sound but if i read it right it said it had bass traps and stuff like that at a decent price. it comes in kits starting at $300 then up depending on your room size

another question
is velvet and felt the only type of fabric that absorbs sound best? What other types of materials are good to use that will absorb the sound very well?
thanks
