Grrrr!!!! Level 5 is pissing me off in the WORST way!!!!

Posted by whiskers on Aug-05-2003 02:08:

ugh, i think on level 3 you have to submit a command to the php script, only i know jack shit about php

this was the shit: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...highlight=level

Posted by DJ_NRG on Aug-05-2003 02:16:

No...level 3 is MUCH easier than that. Its level 5 that will mess with your head. Unless someone knows how to spoof a referring URL in a PHP script, I'm stumped! Where's Acid Junkie when you need him? The guy's brilliant! LoL

pfffft.

for try2hack i had to fake a request from a *nix machine running IE explorer 6.6 and referring from www.microsoft.com

to tell you the truth, the hardest part of that level was trying to figure out how to use the spoofing program, since i already knew about HTTP headers. and it was one of the easiest levels for me. see link above

Hmm stuck on level 2

Lil' help?

Posted by cviper on Aug-05-2003 18:04:

bah, 'stuck' on level 8 (altough level 7 didn't really exist).

Gonna try again later... Prolly something simple - I'm just too blind to see it

Posted by Noisician on Aug-05-2003 18:13:

i'm here, i'm here... no need to cry

for level 3, look closely at the output from level 2 - "password.txt" does exist, but u need to figure out its true location in order to gain access to level 4 (just think *logically* where it might be).

for level 4, watch out for *hidden* input types in the form. u just need to make the script email u instead sam.

level 5 is almost the same as level 4, but a bit harder. there are actually a few ways to get it done, and telnetting port 80 of the server is one of them!

for level 6, just fuckin decrypt it.
(a hint: think of rot13 algorithm)

for level 7,

quote:

Note: Due to concerns with the web host, this challenge is no longer functional. The password to advance to the next level is [viciously edited by AJ]. Thanks to Daniel Tiefnig for catching this bug

as u see it's already given.

for level 8... well, i'm there now.

Posted by N|te-L|fe on Aug-05-2003 18:28:

could anybody explain to me *please* how all this works?

i obviously missed something here...

Posted by rb2k1 on Aug-06-2003 21:38:

im having major trouble figuring out how to use telnet for level 5.. =(

Posted by Noisician on Aug-07-2003 03:39:

actually, if u have a copy of linux/*bsd installed on your computer, there's an easier way to get over level5. all u need is a little program that can generate custom http requests, referer strings, and headers, such as cURL (which is really just an updated wget).

Posted by cviper on Aug-07-2003 06:55:

Or you write your own little program

[Note: if the source above looks like rubish, choose "view page source". Dunno why it messes up...]

Posted by TwoPlow on Aug-07-2003 08:54:

Levels 1 and 2 were really easy, but 3 is roughing me up. I'm not 1337.

Posted by Aled Mann on Aug-07-2003 09:51:

What's the password?

Posted by DR86 on Aug-07-2003 20:34:

How the fuck do you do this?

Posted by Noisician on Aug-08-2003 15:27:

i just figured out how to do level 8. yay!

Posted by Blik on Aug-09-2003 12:07:
