Question about Mauro Picotto

Which was his last 'trance' song before he has been turning into techno?

Posted by TheNeonAlien on Aug-06-2003 01:28:

I dont think mauro ever made trance.

When i look at pvd and mauro, they are nothing similar.

I think the closest to a trance song before his hard techno move would be 'kebab'.

if you even consider that trance at all.

guys, lets not start this again. i discussed this same exact topic a few months ago on these very boards and it just turned into hell. picotto did make some trance, and he does make techno, however you can't really label him to neither. he has his own style, he is unique and is a very good dj/producer. as long as you like the stuff, thats what matters.

yea...its a cross between the 2...sometimes techy and then others trancey...

sometimes a song is a lil of both...Mauro Picotto should just have a genre to himself

Mauro Picotto - Back To Cali for sure
the only 'trance' track on 'The Others' - which is his latest artist album i think? (forgive me if im wrong but i stopped following him once he went into techno)

The word clueless springs to mind

Komodo
Pulsar
Liazard
Iguana
Proximus
Back To Cali

Get a brain and then reply

Yes, he certainly does produce both. Nowadays though, he writes mostly techno and spins techno exclusively.

he did actually play a bit hard-techno for a period last year.. dunno if he does it so much these days, but i remember he smashed productions by krmer, liebing's stigmata series+++

but as said, doesnt seem like he still does it

it's a shame he don't make more tunes like "Back To Cali"!
def. one of the best tunes last year, omg!

Mmm, Picotto's "Alchemist" EP...his best material yet!

Posted by MA612 on Aug-06-2003 19:04:

As long as the guy makes good music and is an awesome DJ, that's what matters. Mauro's style is unique though but he does lean towards techno a bit more, now Mario Piu(on the same label I think) that's someone who spins trance...

Not so much those days, but I rembered some sets back in 2001 where he used to play the hard shit, there could be worse, but hey, playing Kay D. Smith and Zaffarano is good enough for me.

Ever heard of "We're back?"
