All Brits are spoiled!!

I was shopping in Soho in London a couple of months ago, and heard a phat mix on the system of a store... i asked the clerk what CD this was, because it was slammin'. He said he didnt know, "its the radio."

I think Radio 1 is very underrated. I have since that day been looking at their broadcasts, checking out what has been playing, etc. man, with a radio station like that, i woulnd't need a CD player in my car, jesus!

I just felt like saying this because i saw someone say on another thread how the "stupid Radio 1 plays out music." Hahah, not until you experience shitty American radio can you really appreciate it i guess. I would kill to get Radio 1 here.

Opinions?

i agree most with this statement. the radio stations we have in vancouver is absolute shit.

Dude they coplain about their radio that it plays cheeze e.g. fragma.
I just laughed man!!
I love radio 1.
Always:live broadcasts,wiked and proper dj shows(Pete Tong,Judge,Anne Nightingale etc) and ofcoarse the ESSENTIAL MIX!
not only that, they play rock each specific day they play reggae,they play dance music,drum'n'bass,rap. No time for pop fucks like *N-sync
Radio 1 introduced me to the whole dance scene back 1 year ago.

Power Ninety-sux!!! (96.5) if i'm lucky they might play "ayla-ayla".

although, late at night on saturdays, they have the late-night labrotories which are "aight."

hi im from england and all i can say is u dont havent herd enough to say that its all good! u havent herd most the bollocks they play, id say 70% mixture of garage, (were famous for that crap, metal, pop, and rap!) and yes u can listen on the web, Radio 1 (its at the top somewhere) listen to it for about a week and then come back and say what u think!

here in atlanta, I was out boating on lake lanier when i tuned into 95.5. They were apparantly broadcasting from a rave in ATL. It was nice to hear some trance on the radio but it wasnt too great. The DJs track list was Played Alive, some uplifting song that ive heard everywehre (but forgot the name) and then sandstorm. at that point i ran off to set off some fireworks on the beach, and when I came back the set was over adn they were playing Alice Deejay - better off alone (gag me)

thats also true, all the trance, 90% is very commercical all fragmas and darudes and all them, and what trance control sed is also very true, they play a hell of a lot of rap, along with a lot of metal and rock, and then pop being next, ull only get trance if u tune in later in the day (our time) as in the day its, well, radio! thee also famous for talking all the time during shows! more than mc's!

Ahhhhhhhh Radio 1 got to love / hate it

Weekdays Radio 1 is Crap . . .
ALL 100% commercial pop crap with maybe the odd good track thrown in now and then
But the weekends are something else
from 6Pm to 11pm friday night radio 1 takes on a new life with its trance and dance music
from 11Pm fri night its rap and garage ICK !
Saturdays from 5pm u get Judge Jules who on the whole puts together a pretty good show then from 7pm its Seb Fontaine who ALWAYS does a blinder well cool stuff
after Seb it gets pretty dire again until 2am when its the essential selection
Sunday nights its Danny (dumpling)rampling with his love groove dance party show
thats pretty much the cheeseier side of dance / trance / house music but ok (ish )

but to make up for the lack of decent tunes on Radio 1 during the week we got plenty of pirate radio stations brodcasting all genres of music

Kiss FM is not too bad either

sorry man i was working, if u look at the bottom left hand corner, ull see the time, thats the english time! u cant go far wrong with what neo sed, about the times to listen, if u go on the radio 1 websitre and find out what times the ppl and there shows are on then ull be ok, follow neo and u should miss out most the crap!

Really? it's got to be better than ours in Calgary. We got squat for selection in radio stations except the top 40 crud spewing non-stop 24/7

count me in.....except.....i just totalled my 93 golf two days ago coming back from the ocean...OMG the car got trashed....my trusty little golf at the junkyard *tear flows from one eye*.....me and my friend miraceously walked away from the collision with minor bruises....

buying another golf/gti in sept. when i come back from Europe....yup,yup....nothing but....that was the most amazing car i have ever driven....it was cool too....all the wanna b gees were checking it out always...hehe....well, i'll post a pic of the car when it got totalled when i get the pics developed...
