What Should I Buy . XBOX or PS2 ?????

I have won a �50 gift voucher for HMV, im after a new console, the PS2 are �169.99 which is expensive and the XBOX is �120 , im really stuck on which one to buy. !!!

both good. but i prefer the ps2. especially since mgs3 is coming out in 2004

PS2, I'm gonna go pick up Silent Hill 3 today

buy a radeon9900pro with HL2 when it comes out

xbox plus modchip to play divx

i have every X box game ever created. including other countries shit that hasnt come to america and never will... why? because its easy to mod, and the games are...acessible. PS2 is annoying as shit to mod, and therefor you end up purchasing a lot of games. And thats fucking wrong

PS2! much better games than xbox has.

dont pick your console based on what other people say is cooler, or which one has the better hardware specs. Pick the one that has the games you wanna play.

These days many games make it onto all 3 of the major platforms but some do not and theyre usually the better ones. Halo is Xbox only, and even tho i hate FPS games i liked halo. Final Fantasy X is PS2 only, and i reckon its the best game ever. Grand theft auto, PS2, star wars: KOTOR, xbox...

depends on which games you like....

i never understood why this game is that highly rated, it frankly sucks with its stupid dialogues and straight forward storyline... but then again, 15 yrs like that kind of bs.

i have ps2, xbox and gamecube, i don't really play much with them, i prefer my pc. But if I had the choice of buying one of them, i would get the xbox for its live! support (internet play).

I agree, ff7 was so much better.

anyways I have a ps2 and its good. best part is that GT4 is coming out soon!!!! I dont know if it's gonna be on xbox though.

but xbox has morrowind.. which is probably my fav game (even though I have it for pc).

so look around for what games are out/coming out on each system, and make your decision based on that.

dreamcast ive lost count but its in the neighborhood of 200+ games
PS has a few hit series, devil may cries were bad ass, FF's, GTAs

but Xbox has Soul Caliber, halo, brute force, KOTOR (which is AWESOME!),midnight club, ... god too many too name. PLus the mod lets you get Yager (which is very very fun). The sheer amount of development power the Xbox gives lets people make anything they want. The bigg numbers is on Xboxs side witht eh sheer volume of games they are producing a lot are excellent.

I do not say buy it because I have it, just buy it for the same reasons :P

morrowind on xbox suffer from lag...

there are more things available for ps2. so i would go with ps2.

What do you primarily want from a console?

Xbox is piss easy to mod up and tweak the nipples off of it, whilst PS2 has a bigger library of games. But that means fuck all if theres only about 20% of games out there that actually grab your attention.

Look at the games, not 3rd party, but exclusive titles, which ever grabs you more, go for it.

PS2 Also Has Soul Calibur 2 and its fucking amazing graphic wise and very fast and dynamic.

Besides PS2 runs much smoother than XBOX on big screens

I Have a questio for PS2 owners who has the Magic 3.1 chip installed.
Have you ever inserted a game and got a black screen and the game didnt load?
It happened to me yesterday when I inserted Gran Turismo 3, then I restarted the console and it worked fine.
The CD was also scratched so could that be the reason?

Also, when I play Tekken 4, Soul Calibur 2 (both burned), everything runs smooth, the games dont get stuck, but with NBA Street Vol. 2, the game can get stuck for like 30 seconds sometimes or get stuck perminantly.
Something similar happend to anyone here?, maybe its becuase of the burn? because I didnt burn them myself I bought them...

i own an xbox and like it very much.
the only bad thing about it is that we didn't get Winning Eleven.. and that game rules
