Trance Day on MTV Dance. Weird
Finished about an hour ago.
A bit of a paradox.
Ok so MTV may define "Trance" as the likes of Ian van Dahl, DJ Sammy and all that other shite and while they were playing crap like that, they did play Timo Maas - Der Schieber, Paul van Dyk - Nothing but You, and (quite surprisingly) Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (Marco V remix). They played the original Cafe del Mar video from a few years back with the Marco V mix over it. Quite weird to hear a nine minute track compressed into 2 1/2 minutes, especially when the breakdown should last that long. They kinda did butcher the breakdown, but it was the fact that they played it that amazed me.
I'm confused. This kind of stuff being played on MTV Dance leaves me feeling all weird inside. Its just wrong for some reason.
hehe is it bad that some people hear some good tunes and maybe they will kinda like trance when they hear some real good tunes
I'm sorry, but W T F
Amazing
Don't even know how to feel about it
Re: Trance Day on MTV Dance. Weird
MTV didnt butcher the marco v mix, that was done my hooj/lost language. There is an official marco v radio edit you know
it appeared on the cdpromo, the cd release and the cdr
Most of the stuff MTV Dance plays is cack anyway.
However it does have its moments now & again.

Nothing wrong with exposure.
Enough of you always bitch about the content of MTV or other media (radio) yet when something Trance related is on you wonder if its good or not.
Make up your mind!

I haven't watched that channel for ages! They do play some arsewipe material sometimes, but it's still the one of the best music channels (in the UK at least) for trance. It just annoys me that they're limited to playing songs that have videos, whereas the 'Dance' section on Music Choice plays all sorts of tunage coz they dont play vids.
If MTVD did that, I reckon they'd play quality stuff 24/7.
MTV was very important for my knowledge on electronic music. I wouldn't have heard of Laurent Garnier, Roni Size, Ken Ishii, Jean-Michel Jarre, Fluke, Laurent Garnier, Apollo 440, Juno Reactor, Front 242, CJ Bolland, Asian Dub Foundation and many others if it weren't for MTV
Yea MTV Dance has its moments, I saw in "Doubles Day" a Tiesto double: Lethal Industry and 643 (Loves on Fire)
MTV has a dance channel? WTF???, INFO PLEASE!!!
to the state-siders: whats the deal with mtv2? here in latin america they dont air it but i was wondering what mtv2 was for? isnt there enough of the pop culture with mtv alone?
not surprised to hear that they played trance on mtv.
they have countdowns for the top x electronica videos.
back a few years ago, pvd's for an angel was in the top 5 i think

mtv is utter shite stateside. Mostly just play back crap over-caned pop radio tunes (hip-hop or manufacture-me-rock with electronica overtones seems to be the current trends stateside) but thats only when they actually even play music. MOst of the time its just commercials (seems like whenever i do watch tv (which isn't often) and surf by mtv to see whats on (even less often) its always a damn commercial or "reality" tv show. MTV 2 basically plays back just videos but again its all shite. avoid like plague, rinse, lather, repeat, 3x and call it good
the dutch mtv has broadcasted dance valley 2x times with a special of 4 hours
I don't think we get MTV dance in the US???
MTV 2 is alternative/rock over here.
MTV Dance is a bit shite really, but its ok occasionally.
I tend to stay away from it as they have Michael Jackson days and stuff like that.

bleh, no mtv dance here
No mtv dance here. The only local thing I know of is a baltimore/dc radio station, HFS, does one hour on saturday nights that used to be called 'Trancemissions' , it wasnt TERRIBLE, but now its changed to something else. I just stopped listening. Can't wait to go to Glow in dc.
*well the good news-
1. 300th post, not that its a big deal
2. I passed my road test and get my license very very soon!
*oh, mtv2 is just another channel like mtv but more of the same music videos repeated with less "shows"
