New Lasgo Single "Surrender"

At the end of September it will be available... and US release will be in November. Early next year will see the release of the new album. 3 tracks are finished for the new album.... and the Lasgo producers already finished 8 tracks for the new Ian van Dahl album. For those of you who didn't know Ian van Dahl is gonna work with some new producers on the new album and the Lasgo team is one of them.

ffs i'm not one to throw stones cos i was very newbie as well not so long ago ( 8 months or so ).. now im just a lil' neophyte but it seems the boards have been flooded with TITS asking or informing about us about cheese ..

Posted by Version 1 on Aug-08-2003 07:45:

Get a life losers. I personally don't believe in the word 'cheese', cuz I don't really get it. I've been recommended stuff thats not 'cheese' and its boring. I mean......Please stop making my head hurt. Me, I'm gonna listen to whatever Trance I wanna fucking listen to cuz its my life and and my taste. It's ridiculous the stuff some of the people here consider 'cheese'....Blank & Jones? Cosmic Gate? I mean c'mon....huh? Stop sucking Tiesto and Armin's dicks for a little.

Posted by Slapskin on Aug-08-2003 07:57:

the stuff ur listening to is cheesified euro piece of shit music. thats what it is. u call that fuckin trance? ur a disgrace to the forums bitch.

Posted by Rostros on Aug-08-2003 07:58:

I think you should leave all the Lasgo fans alone , least there closer to Trance then all this other crap music out there.

This guy is mint.. your right, it is your life, you can listen to *wahtever* you want, but the thing is, when you share that opinion with everyone else, we possess to the ability to speak our mind as to what we think of it. Thats just the way things work
If IVD isn't cheese than i die :P

to give you the rundown for future reference cheese is pretty much slang for "Hi-Nrg" tracks ( i believe it's actually a genre ) which contain uplifting to the point i want to puke melodies (although the degree of which may be varying) and more importantly (or perhaps easier to spot) cliche/retarded/just plain fucking stupid vocals.
example

"we're in heaven.. we're in heaven"
"let the rave begin"
"why do we build castle in sky?"

SHIT!

Posted by DarkViper on Aug-08-2003 08:14:

in my opinion cheese is anything cheap produced with some loud sweet sounding synth covering the main melody. then there is a break (very predictable) with some very stupid female vocals about nonsens which is designed only to appeal to the masses.

i'm afraid lasgo perfectly fits in that category. and so does ian van dahl.

note: this is only my opinion, i dont want you to listen to different stuff - listen to what you like, but then again prepare to be flamed when labeling cheese "quality trance" on a trance board

Posted by Version 1 on Aug-08-2003 09:20:

For me, the only 'cheese' out there are 'one hit wonders', thats it. I mean....the 'hit' can be 'cheese' but all the other tracks can bang. And word to everybody here: Trance is a Euro game, the trance that comes from the USA is laughable, I mean c'mon the Aura is'nt there, everything that is 'USA-A-FIED' becomes cliche nad 'cheesey'. heh....I mean I know everybody here loves Tiesto - Lethal Industry (I love it), but put that track at a normal dance club...people will be disgusted...you getting my point? I know they are ignorant but you gotta make Trance that appeals to anyone, thats opens anybody's senses right when they hear it.

Posted by Billabong on Aug-08-2003 09:30:

I admit i used to listen to that sort of stuff, when i was younger, but discovered that life was greener on the other side.

The stuff made by artists like, ian van dahl and lasgo is labled as cheese, because those particular artists are trying to appeal to a mass market of consumers, by releasing a song, that follows the exact guide lines of a chart hit, so they produce, what they think people will like.

The general public like vocals, all my friends hate songs without vocals, and don't see how i can listen to them, songs from these producers, always have vocals, thus adhering to the chart hit formula.

Id be suprise if a trance song without vocals got to number 1 in the uk charts nowadays.

What gives people the right to "flame" somebody for stating their opinion? There's no universal rule of what is "quality" and what isn't, it's all something that comes down to personal opinion.

Also, when it comes to commercial dance music, IMO the commercial Belgian vocal "trance" such as Lasgo, Ian Van Dahl, Milk Inc etc. isn't half bad when compared to a lot of the commercial stuff floating around these days. Their tracks are relatively well produced, if not hugely inspiring and while not being very original, at least they're not covers like much of the commercial crap that comes out of Germany (Jan Wayne, Aquagen, Rocco) and the UK (Flip & Fill and the likes). I haven't heard this track, but I don't mind the style of Lasgo so I'll give it a go.

Posted by DarkViper on Aug-08-2003 11:22:

I didnt flame him for hearing lasgo, i said he should listen what he wants to, but i told him what i understand as "cheese" and that lasgo would fall under that definition.

I don't intend to insult anyone personally for hearing music that I find crap myself.

I agree with Version 1 completely,

All of you are miserable elitists who praise "G&D" and other boring crap while artists such as Lasgo produce smooth, enjoyable, pleasant tracks that appeal to a wide audience.

Posted by atxhorn on Aug-08-2003 19:49:
