Stupid American Dates
why do americans have there dates in the format month day year?!! why not have it normal like day month year?!!?
it makes no sense whatsoever to have it that way, only confusing things. either have it day month year or year month day but not a random order like that.
The reason this came about is im trying to ID a liveset from PVD adn the date on it is: 07/02/2003 at casino berlin. The question is, is that the seventh of february or the second of july. Obviously i'll be able to find out off some-one, but i thought id just say that the date system is stupid!
peace,
Nell
You think that is stupid?
A small group at work has started naming files as follows
yymmdd topic.doc
that way, the docs sort chronologically when sorted alphbetically, even if the files are accidentally modified later - thus blowing the last modified tag
Other files are named mmddyy
so what do I do with a file from 020103
Is that February 1, 2003? January 3, 2002? January 2, 2003?
It is so dumb
Imagine the horror, we still haven't adopted the metric system either!
Because when we say the date, we say "August 8" not "8 August"
As for metric, yeah it's about time the US adopted it.
funny you mention this, ive always found it annoying that some nations do this, and its even more annoying when you download a 'recent' liveset only to find out that your about 7 months out of date.
