Armin Van Buuren Hangout [COMMENTS]
So, lets hear what everyone thought about our chill with The Man.
For anyone who doesn't know, Armin came to the Irish Heather tonight to hang out with us. There was alot of people who came, I'm guessing like 25++. Anyways, there was some doubt as to whether he was going to come or not, apparently they couldn't find him at the hotel. Then 15 minutes later, bam. What a rush.
Caleb and I sat right next to him. I got to shake his hand and introduce myself to him.
Tonight was unbelievable, we all owe Sean a HUGE thank you for putting that together for us.
I will post pictures as soon as I downsample them and upload them.
Thanks again everyone, I had an awsome time hanging out with you all, and I hope you guys enjoy the show (Getting IDs SOON HAHAHA).
That was crazy, best part of summer so far without a doubt.
GOt 76 and he signed it too!!!
Soooooo jealous of all you who got vinyls....rrrrrrrrrrgggg I had to restrain myself from strangling you!!!

It's now 5 and im gettin home. What an awesome night i had. Arin is one of the most nicest dudes ive met in the indusrty. He seemed super stoked onn the turn out...he was thanking us when we were thanking him.
He also said to me how awesome it is that you can go half way around the world and and meet a group of pepole that are passionate about trance music.

does outbreak - minds in motion sound familiar to any of you? it might not be released yet.
1998
WOOO>. Just got home.. My bro and I made it down [Armin#1].. what an insane set WOW!! I had a great time.. except for the fact that half the people there didnt even know who he was and were all mangled on X ... No one would get claps or "Armin" chants going... which both get him really pumping.. but oh well .. Armin always brings the house down ! props to the man!
PS.. Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust runs my show :]

Armin was very down to earth and was very easy to talk to didn't seem bothered by too many questions. I hope he spreads the word to other dj's so that when they come to town, we can do the same thing.
That was absoltly awesome. I was able to get the first ferry home at 6:30 via the greyhound to get there. I'd like to thank everyone I ment and sean for puting this together... if anyother time I'm planing to come over for a trance dj *crosses fingers... come on marco v* I'll seartanly look this way to meet up with you all again.
Armin's set was awesome! I was so excited and happy he played the Sensation Black Anthem... was awesome! And it was so cool seeing most of the people in the crowd singing along to "as the rush comes".
Looking forward to seeing the pictures you all took. But I gotta get some sleep now. Bye and thanks again for having me.
wow man
it was indeed great to meet some more of you TAs, however, not to bitch, but a lot of people we did not know showed up to the meet-up. i'm cool with that, but it would be nice if you guys participated in the forums a little more as well. quick note: not everyone paid for their drinks so asher (widget) and i had to cover the tab at the end. come on guys, its not like it's a $20-meal, just a beer.
anyways, i got my 5th dimension on white label. absolutely love the track, but would've loved to have mark otten's mushroom therapy that pavel got, lucky boy
got my hug, some pictures. i remember sean saying that armin is very tall, but he wasnt, he seems tall cause he's kinda skinny tho hehe also props to dave, armin's canadian manager for getting armin to rotate around tables rather then letting him sit in one place, and also big thank you to dave for letting armin out in the first place.
the show was great. too bad at least half the people didnt give rats ass to who armin was. the set was hard, quite a few tech trance tracks, and a banging techno track that i do not know. kim and i were at the front and the vibe there was great, lots of people who knew armin and his music. btw, kippenvel on my sign means goosebumps in dutch. some of the tracks that i recognized and remember:
po5(pos??) - remember
tiesto - traffic
airwave - when things go wrong (remix)
armin and airwave - slipstream
motorcycle - as the rush comes (armin remix)
binary finary - 1998 (ronski speed remix)
tiesto - obsession (frank biazzi remix)
marco v - c:\del*mp.3 <-- not sure if thats how the title goes hehe
coldplay - clocks (marco v remix)
ron van den beuken - timeless
hemstock and jennings - reverence
david gahan - dirty sticky floor <--- reduced to a nice chill proggy bpm
as one - forever waiting
veracocha - carte blanche
there was a gouryella track somewhere, we thought
coast 2 coast - searching
rank 1 - airwave (breaks dub)
solid globe - north pole
push - strange world (2000 remake)
also a lot of tracks that i have heard before. probably a good 85-90% of stuff i have heard but either couldnt remember what the track was or didn't know.
the night was perfect..................... until azim came on and droped tomcraft's loneliness
i wasnt gonna bitch about azim and tazix but playing that track just after armin is unforgivable. plus there wasnt really a moment where people had the chance to cheer for armin, thank him and all that, music just kept going, which is fine if you're doing a small club night *UGH*
btw, sean, thank you
and its a hell of a nice record you got, that track is pumpin

i'm pretty sure armin played that remix of obsession, i was obsessed with the track for a while hehe
he might have played it together with another track cause it sounded like it had something extra, but he definately droped it.
the remember track, i'm somewhat certain it was played
"except for the fact that half the people there didnt even know who he was and were all mangled on X"
thats twisted for ya....pretty gross actually....
went to sonar after and the crowd was 5 times better...thats a dope night! thankfully all you guys were at the cave....
btw, no "my religion"....oh well....i actually arrived late and had to leave early, but 2.5 hours of armin was enough..what a wicked set....1998!!! and then as i was leaving could hear "airwave" and almost creamed myself..i love that tune
btw, the clock remix, was that really the marco v one..i swear it was a different mix
seeing armin in MTL in october.....PUMPED!
Ricky Fobis - No Regular
how could I fucken forget!!!!!

i wish i could have stayed till the very end, but i had some business to take care of..glaude destroyed sonar btw!
btw, peel, airwave is by rank 1
not airwave...remember
hehe
i saw a sleeve of rank 1 - breathing on the floor so he might have spun that.
there was another one too, that none of you listed yet. GAH.. it was hard to read the artist but i remember the song name... i just cant remember it now. something like ... slam something something... gahhh i cant remember. it was 3 words. remember that one, elena?

yep, was a good night
That remix of 1998 - definitely the tune of the night for me
Meeting Armin was good, his set was a lot harder at times than I expected, but still enjoyable. Caught the 4am nightbus home, got to sleep at 5am....
And yea, I didn't recognise a bunch of people at the meetup and had to pay for someone else's tab at the end - I won't mention the name, since I've no idea who the guy is, but it was a bit of a pain.
Good to see everyone again!
that night sure brought back ALOT of memories. for some reason it felt like i was at a rave like the good ol' days. must have been all the vietnamese dudes/dudettes high on e
He also Spun Scott Band vs Solar Stone - 3rd Earth as one of his openers.. INSANE SET OH WOW!! sorry i couldnt make it to the dinner.. got there a little late ..If any TA's got good pictures it would be appreciated if you posted them.. thanks
