The producer Dekkard (and large article by Dave Dresden)

Well, I've figured that Dekkard is probably a somewhat unfamiliar name to most people here. A search on "dekkard" only revealed 5 posts (excluding mine). Well, in my opinion he is the most underrated producer in the history of electronic music. During the mid 90's he was a fairly big name in the Brittish trance/progressive house scene, although he hailed from accross the Atlantic. How many people here have actually heard/like his work? I haven't heard anything from him since the end of 1997, and have no idea if he still produces anything, or is even still alive.

Upon searching Google a while back, I discovered this BRILLIANT article about him by nobody other than Dave Dresden written in July 1997:

It's one of the best reads I've ever had around a producers career and is very interesting in explaining how much he was messed about with coming into the scene. What I find even more interesting is how many now "big" names he produced for or collaborated with such as Sasha, John Debo, Kimball Collins and BT.

All excellent tracks that are well worth checking out.

In my opinion he belongs alongside the likes of Marc Mitchell, Andy Ling, Johnothan Sutton and Barry Jamieson (Evolution), John Horrocks and Lee Milleare (Amethyst), Alex Whitcombe and Andy Cato (Qattara), Andrew Archer and Scott Dawson (Forth) etc. as one of the leaders of the mid 90's Trance/Progressive house production.

I also found this on the website with the article, somewhat interesting:

"You probably know Dave "The Wave" Dresden as half of the remix team Gabriel & Dresden whose remix work on Way Out West, New Order, DJ Tiesto, and Jewel have forged a new US progressive club sound."

is this the same dekkard that remixed Grace - Down to Earth while Trance is just so good during 1997?

how's the track HYDRA- Maid Of Grace, any idea?

Yes, it is that same Dekkard although I personally prefer the Ascension Mix of "Down To Earth" and the original is nice too.

I've heard all the tracks which I listed there, the remix of Hydra - Maid Of Grace is really good.

I have to agree, he is very little known on TA and about everywhere i think.

I've heard most of those Dekkard mixes and i like them alot. I have heard also this a few times:

Hybrid feat. Andreas Carlson - Fall Out Of Love (Dekkard's Roadkill Mix)

It's good but don't compare imo with Hybrid's Breakbeat Mix.

Yeah, I also have that one and it's just about the only mix of his which I do not like. Something is just missing in it.
