Has this happen to you????

"Holy moly - i just listen to the most awesome track played on DJ's ____ liveset, this is track of the year material HANDSDOWN imo - title is blah@blahblah." - from OverExcited_TranceAddict101.

i love how shit is overhyped. you can find it everywhere on the board...On top, a thread is titled "Write it down, blah is track of the year". A few threads down you got "My number 1 anthem, of all time"

yeah.. ..you'll hear about it from some titiwhopper like our friend above and below...then you think, "what the hell, i think i'll find and give it a listen, after all he did said it could be track of the year material"

and so... you spend almost half an hour tracking it down...soliciting info from other TA as to where you might find it, and another 10 minutes to download it. Then you sit up straight on your chair, turn the sound system to desired optimal setting, getting ready to listen.

First thought, WAHT THE FUCK IS THIS CRAP???!!!! da dude gotta be smoking crack cause I aint' feeling it.

then you check the title, making sure you've downloaded the right track, and it's the one playing on your winamp.

then you think, "maybe it'll grow on me"...... hmmm...

hmmmmm...............hmmmm......not growing....not working!!

then you start questioning yourself, "AM I different, is my taste vastly different from everyone else?"

so you listen a couple of more time to be sure,
only to get pissed off. After that you squintantly point to the refer-ee's screename, going "THIS MOTHERCFUKER!!!"

and then....the magic of group think take over....

everyone raves about it...."how could you not love it??"

and you listen to a couple of more time....magically it turn from "not bad"....to "i see where you're going with this." and the

THE Rest is history...group think fills your little brain...

has this shiet evar happen to you??? or are you too headstrong to go against the grain with your musical mindset?

ps...please refrain from going banana everytime a good track comes along. We are all after that 1 track, that complete us...so use it wisely.

TA is exactly what it used to be - just every group has grown exponentially (newbs/genre whores/etc.) and you notice things more.

Also, the difference is that a lot of you have been on here so long and as a result have had your tastes/opinions differ from when you first signed up.

Remember.. just cuz someone is all enthusiastic about a track is not a bad thing - if it is not up to 'par' with your tastes that is because you've (likely) already been exposed to so much more and 'your sound' is refined to the point that you can't relate to the 'omg' factor of the thread starter.

Don't turn into your parents and start saying "IT's not the way it used to be..." blah blah blah

Those people can experience things much intenser then others.
I'm also one of them.
My girlfriend would die to live like this, but she can't, she adores me for that...I dunno why I do this...It's just the feeling how much you love your music and how happy it makes you.
I also have this with movies.
