yeah well ill piss all over that when i brag about the golf gti 1.6 i want which i cant afford the insurance for
LOL, kate, thats the exact kit my mate bought year and a half ago, the one she just sol in preps for her techs
Decent enough decks, bit on the touchy side, but you cant expect that much from that price.
Mixer is good, tho is prone to wear n tear (as all Numark mixers are), so clean out the crossfader every 2 months with some isoprophyl alcohol
you cant beat a 2 year old pair of gemeni xl-500 II's tho

you can do some amazing scratching on the numarks tho without the needle jumping!
grrr i can't afford anything big atm, cos my temping agency is poo. The person i was assigned too bloody left the company!
Fortunately i have enough money to pay for repairs to the car for its MOT. Need a new handbrake
new rear wheel bearings
and the usual. I thought it wasn't gonna be that much til i found the bearings were worn. I'm looking at 400 to get it roadworthy! *me cries
But after that its finishing off my 2k stereo install

Numark
i had 2 decks of theirs, DD and BD but both were awful, bad torque and Numark products are prone to fecking up. I dunno why people bother buying mid-range decks. If you do get any good on thema nd you go to a club youll have to start trying to learn how to use Techs then! This is because Techs feel a hell of a lot different than other makes and Techs are THE industry standard at the moment (cant see any real rivals other than vestax) and for the past 10, 15, 20 or whatever years (cant remember so dont flame!).
Honestly, send the kit back and say its shit and u want a refund, then save however long it takes and get some Techs, you dont need a great mixer with them either.
IM(and many people on dj websites: djsource.co.uk/forums being just one)O
I owuld usually agree with you, but my views have recently changed.
This is her first set, she's new to mixing, and, after first-hand experience with the package, I think she made a good choice.
I can mix competently on my mates Numarks, and a hell of lot better on techs. Becoming decent on average decks makes you great on the best.
One of my mates is one of the best djs I've heard, and he started on Gemini XL500's, and he could mix on them to the level I can mix on my mates Numarks. He is incredible on techs, won 2 dj comps in SA before coming over here.
Go Kate, I support your purchase!!

Coz I had been mixing on shit-to-mediocre decks for 2 years before I got to touch techs, and mebbe thats where the difference lies. The more experienced you are as a mixer, regardless on what you mix, I guess you can adjust to new decks quicker. If you'd only been mixing say 6 months and then switched, you'd obviously not notice any difference as you would still be a novice. Get my point? |
