Audiophile 2496 Setup

I just bought a new M Audio Audiophile 2496 Card and Cant seem to get it working. My pc detected it and i installed the drivers. The card shows up in the the Software im using which is Project 5 by Cakewalk/Sonar. I currently have the Analog ASIO driver selected as my output device, and ive tried the rest. I get a signal and see the levels jumping on the program and in Delta Control Panel under the Mixer Monitor Wav Out 1/2 column, but no sound output. I also have a Creative SBPCI card install which lets me output sound through the software and any other software i use. My speakers are computer speakers that are connected to my Creative Card, because for one the Audiophile doesnt have any connection possibility through the Altec Lansings speaker cords. IM thinking i need to buy more stuff like Active Monitors which i plan to buy in the future, but would like to use my computer speakers for now if its possible. Any ideas?

Well firstly, you don't need to get active monitors. You can get passive speakers and an amplifier for them. Either way you will need to power the speakers somehow.

If the speakers aren't connected to the soundcard that is being used, then obviously they aren't going to make much sound are they.

For now, maybe you should try using something like a home stereo. Anything that will allow rca inputs will work but powered computer speakers that run off a 1/8" jack will not.
