ITM SAYS..........
Global Underground 24/7
Good things come to those who wait an apt saying for Danny Howells. A turntable maestro with ten years experience under his belt now sits firmly in the top10 world's best Dj's. Danny Howells' is one of the few DJs on the scene today that truly has a style of his own!
Its a sound developed through playing warm up sets, main sets, alternative sets and of course playing at countless venues across the country. Now, Danny's own brand of "deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse" has caught the imagination of the planets dance floors. It's not just in the club where Danny has made a name for himself, he's also been busy in the studio. His latest offering; 24/7 is the first in a new series of albums for Global Underground, mixes for Renaissance and his own Nocturnal Frequencies series have been the highlights in a continually growing back catalogue of acclaimed mixes.
As a producer his main focus is with co-producer Dick Trevor and vocalist Erire as "Science Dept.". Danny has also had massive dance-floor success with Deep Dish "Size DDD" and the Eminem sampling "Nobody listens to techno".
Danny's infectious personality and individual style is what really puts him a cut above the rest. You can really sense his connection with the crowd wherever he plays and he has fully earned the label "The clubbers DJ".

I'm pumped. See you all there in a couple of hours.
Just found out that Kasey won't be playing though.
They've moved Sean Quinn into the main room to do the closing set instead. Interesting to see if he's still gonna do a breaks set....

A lil too funky for me when I was there, so I retreated to what I love
Oh. My. Fucking. God.
I think that was the best set I've ever seen. Exactly my sort of music, shit-hot atmosphere and the bastard managed to keep it going for four fucking hours. Gavin Keitel did his best to send everyone to sleep in the second half of his set, but the second Danny came on you knew it was going to be special. Uplifting, techy, progressive and pumping - difficult music to describe - but man was it good. If there was any doubt about this guy being my number 1 dj of this year, there isn't any more. Just when you think he couldn't take it to another level he did - it was pretty much just 4 straigt hours of dancefloor destroyers.
Only picked two tracks Gus Gus - David (Medicine 8 Remix) and Tiny Elvis - Casino (?? Remix) but I was expecting to hear to fresh, obscure shit anyway. If you're reading this in another city, even if you hate progressive with a passion you need to get out to see this guy.... you won't be disappointed.
Brilliant. Just Brilliant.
Howells took the reigns at 1:30 and played a well structured and suited set, til' around 5:45. Thats what i want outta all internationals, something like 4 hours worth of time, so they can build a vibe themselves, not simply run with what the predecesor had goin.
r00m was packed, wierd crowd but on the whole seemed up for it, which meant a decent vibe held. Although i felt howells locked himself into a tech groove too early, was loving the bouncy prog at the start and wanted just a lil bit more of that. Still, danced for ages farkin'
Brain hurt now.
we by far got the best deal here in cbr!!!! he played 3.5 hours of yummy driving, groovy, funky stuff at the main event, and was havin such an awesome time that he asked if he could come play the afterparty!! so, we got an extra 2.5 hour set for only $5
and omg was it amazing - he was nicely toasted on a whole bottle of tequila, and was playin whatever he felt like....so laid back and cruisy.....up close and personal, in a divey lil club with only about 50 ppl there.....i won't forget that in a hurry....he is truly the man!!!!!!!
hehehe cbr sure is gettin a reputation for DJs gettin drunk and wanting to play the afterparty...Sasha did the same thing here *lol*

there was much singing-along at the afterparty...Fade to Grey was a highlight....and, even tho I'm ashamed to admit it, quite a few of us were up there singing along to Vogue, by Madonna *lol* I dunno what mix it was, but it was hella groovy...... The ending took the cake tho, like I said before - Danny stands up, wobbles a bit after his 327th shot of Tequila, says "please excuse my drunkenness!!", pushes play on the CDJ, and out pumps Could You Be Loved *lmao* i think everybody in the place was singin along to that one *lol*
