DJ Mag TOP 100 poll
Starting friday August 22 and ending fryday October 3. This poll results in whats undoubtly considered worldwide as the most important Top DJ list. Once DJs reach the top 10 of this list contracts from record companies start pouring.
A little History:
Trance had allways been the monopoly on the top DJs on the list, being Carl Cox #1 on years 96 and 97, followed by Paul Oakenfold in year 98 and 99, and we all know what year 99 was like. However Sasha and gig partner Digweed joined forces and where able to popularize the prog house movement displacing trance DJs and becoming #1 on years 2000(Sasha) and 2001(digweed). They are currently ranked #2 and #3 respectively. It was the unbelivable Tiesto who returned trance to the #1 place on year 2002, but still as I said, two places to the next trancer, PVD.
Now dont get me wrong, Ive been in Gigs in native forests in the middle of nowhere with Hernan Cattaneo on the decks (Prog House and top south american DJ), Ive also been to Sasha (which I got to say still preserves some of his trance influence while mixing prog house) and Satoshie Tomie (prog house), and all of this guys mix like gods and will surely jump to the top 10 this year. But the question remains: will trance prevail over house, or will the prog house movement once again move up this year and perhaps for ever?
Vote this friday 22 for your 5 favourites at www.djmag.com

I think Armin has gained alot of respect since the vote was taken last year. I expect to see him jump up alot in the ranks once this years results are published.
top 3 will be
1. Tiesto
2. Armin

Ferry Corsten is never been the number one dj in the world. Like Frostdude1 says Cox is chosen one time and Tall Paul is also chosen in the past and not Ferry.
But I think and I hope Tiesto will be first again. He's chosen again Best Ibiza DJ 2003. And with his AMAZING concert it must be.
Second Armin and I think Ferry and Marco V will also be in the top 10.
HOLLAND ROCKS!!!
This year Holland has his top 100 also. ID-T takes the control of that.
Dj Bobo's gonna pwn!
I would like to say:
1. PVD
2. Tiesto
3. Armin
I want to put Armin ahead of Tiesto, but just way too much success for DJ Tiesto this year.
Tiesto #1. Psshh. What's up with that? He's good, but not that good. Definitely not deserving of two years in a row. Lucky to even be in the freaking top five.
Sasha and Diggers have been in a coma this year, and I'm not just talking about the somnolent effects of progressive. Their sets have been less than great and neither has been very active on production. Drop, drop, drop, please.
There are many newer prog DJs this year that I hope break out with higher rankings.
Armin has been on fire. He definitely deserves a top-tier ranking, probably in the top three.
And Marco V at #29 last year?? That better fu@king change.
Paul's excellent sets, plus Reflections, should definitely put him in the top three, if not first.
Christopher Lawrence still kicks the ass of most DJs, but he just doesn't have very much of a fan base globally, so a poor ranking is to be expected.
1. Paul van Dyk
2. Marco V
3. Johan Gielen
r0xxx ;D
1. PvD
2. Tiesto (As much as I'd like Armin here I agree with what was said above, Tiesto has done loads for dance tunage this year in terms of taking it to people all over, productions are BLAH though...
)
3. Armin.
1. Paul van Dyk
2. Armin van Buuren
3. Tiesto
i would have to say that this year it is a race between armin and tiesto. armin has got a lot more popular since last year so it'll be close. also i expect to see markus schulz move up the list...or get on it i don't know if he is atm. anyway, someone post the list from last year...

I'd guess Marco V will be moving up quite a bit this year.

i personally think Tiesto, PvD, AvB, Marco, Sasha, Ferry, and gielen will be fairly high this year. and i can also expect that we'll see some new faces on the list such as Markus Schulz, and Junkie XL

I think Armin will be in the top 5, I mean his radio started out very kick ass turned me on to him. Not to mention 004 was fucking great. Then again Tiesto's 8 solo this year will get him PLLLLLENTY of votes honestly I think it will be out of those two. On another note u can never discount the popularity of Sasha & John Digweed so who knows, I was quite shocked last year, but then I wasnt. Also I think the sleeper of the year will be D:Fuse, Im telling u that man will be very high this year.
great....always good to make sure pvd, tiesto and avb don't win number 1
it has nothing to do with how good the dj was in 2003...it's more-less their career achivements (which is why tiesto was #1 in 2002)
My prediction:
1. Sasha
2. PVD
3. AVB
1 and 2 may be switched around...both of them deserve it but AVB i dunno i don't like him but even so he's still young but he will get it one of the years
such a schame about the judge, such a talant he was!
will he be in the top 100 list this year>?>
this oldtimers are fading awey..
premadonna pvd will be 4th as usual...he don't deserve top 10...but every single year ends up 4th
probably be
sasha or digweed as #1....not much happens...tiesto needs to be out of the top 10.
adam freeland will be top 30-40
Hybrid should be top 50
james lavelle should make the list
john askew will make the list
my pick would be as follows:
1. paul van dyk
2. armin
3. tiesto
