Posted by AnGeLicK on Aug-18-2003 23:57:

one of my friends performed in this musical...i liked it

Posted by Lost Inhibition on Aug-19-2003 01:30:

well most music is made or converted to data electronically... thus making it "electronic" music as apposed to magnetic music like tapes and vinyl. therefore Jesus Christ Superstar is within the boundries of the music forum, as long as we are talking about an "electronic" viewing or recording.....

I saw Phantom of the Opera at Broadway when I went to New Work back in 1996. I've also seen Nutcracker at the Sydney Opera House.

Evita kicks majorly. It's my favorite of his work because of the maturity that manages to come across in musical form. Glosses over much of the actual history of Eva Peron, but still presents a moving historical story.

Cats is whimsical and innane, but fun all the same.

Never saw Phantom. Never liked Jesus Christ Superstar at all; too much of a "typical" musical to me.

In fact, Webber is as far as I go in terms of musicals. Most of the rest make me vomit with their total disconnect from reality and trite use of dance numbers. Blech! Cats is the only exception because it revels in its total fantasy rather than mixing it with reality, plus it's based off of the poetry of T.S. Eliot, lending some artistic merit.

so lets encourage people to start threads on fuckin michael jackson and shit. err no, that shit belongs in the chillout area or not here at all.

tranceaddict.com NOT allmusic.com

this guy was trying to be a smartass and you know it. i was just trying to cath him out. if you realyl think he wanted to talk about the musical you very naive!

too many kids on these forums. as ive said b4, ta needs a system to identify members as being over 18, so we dont have so many immature racist remarks about skin colour, ethnic group or lame postings. there's a strong corolation on TA, the older generation of TA being hte more sensible.

yes it is tranceaddict.com and most of the threads ARE about trance but if someone wants to change the mood and talk about some other genre there's nothing wrong with that...look at all the successful hip hop/rap threads

you say this is a thread that no one will probbaly give a shit about and it is yet you decide to reply and flame the threadstarter anyway for no reason

Posted by Nell on Aug-19-2003 03:36:

read above for my reasons

yes but they should be in the chillout room. do you expect people to talk about their computers in here? no, chillout room or not at all. it says 'trance or electronic dance music' thats the way it should be. obviously there are exceptions but talking about 'jesus christ superstar' should be in chillout room, cos it aint trance, EDM or any form of dance music. there are not raves for this etc etc,

EDIT: cant be arsed to rant anymore atm, go back to the topic since you care so much for it. no more replies about me, bring it to PM if you must.

EDIT2: OMG TuanAnh213, your such a hypercrit (sp?) ive just seen this thread now..

ive seen these on Broadway:

*Phantom Of The Opera (2x)
*Les Miserable (2x)
*Crazy For You
*Cats
*Guys & Dolls
*Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat

personally, i have a soft spot for Phantom but as a kid, i liked Joseph for its purely entertiament value. and well Les Mis, i disliked it when i was younger cuz it was just such a heavy complex story and LONG but as i got older, i have more appreciation for the plot/moral and such. ive always liked musicals... hehhe

Posted by Cobalt on Aug-19-2003 03:55:

If it's really that much of an annoyance, just ask that the thread be moved to the Chillout Room. That's all. No need to get all pissy and irritated on both sides. It's not that big of a deal.

Posted by Xavier on Aug-19-2003 03:57:

who could forget Les Miserables...the whole world ended up loving it and I couldnt stand it!

I also liked Sweet Charity

Posted by Nell on Aug-19-2003 03:57:

i didnt get annoyed, i was havign a joke in my first post until all the kids get offended cos i said fuck off. now im defending a point which i had no intention of making in the first place.

p.s. no-one's mentioned any of the piece's of MUSIC in this DISCUSSION about the musical.

the above is a tongue in cheek joke (i.e. a little dig, "i am not really mad" type of joke, like the first post)
