Love is in the air Photon Project - Illumination

i heard this recently, this track is very very beautiful in my opinion, and i'd just like to know if the melody is taken from a classical song (or something like that), or if it is an original melody composed by P.project themselves...thanx

Love

If you think that's beautiful, listen to "enlightenment" (original mix). It's also on the same vinyl (easily one of the best records in my collection).

That's one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life (regardless of genre). I truley mean it when I say that! It brought a tear to my eye when I heard it the first time...

It's one of those songs that takes you on a journey, and never lets you go.

I am wondering too about the use of classical music samples in their work; whether they produce those samples themselves, or they are "borrowed."

Alco can answer that question for you....

As far as I know, all the classical bits in the Dawnseekers/Photon Project/Twenty-Something/Threesome tracks were composed by Geert Huinink (as well as in Tiesto's Magik Journey). Listen to Geert's remix of Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water to see more evidence of his skill in such areas. I don't know if he was actually classically trained or not but I know of no trance producer who's better qualified to put out symphonic-sounding music (I only wish him and Alco would do more of it!). Another random fact: Huinink also produced the brief intro track Noa Assembly - Into The Fire especially for Tiesto's ISOS3. I'd gladly accept corrections to the above but it's correct to the best of my knowledge.

edit Enlightenment is my #2 all-time favourite.

isn't that enlightenment on that cd?

edit: nevermind, mislabeled as usual. Illumination (10:27) is far better than Enlightenment (11:48) in that case

Enlightenment is 11'53"

Illumination is 10'31"

oh, in that case, enlightenment is the best
love that tune, maybe a bit repetetive, but what the hell, the melody is so sweet

I don't really have an all time top ten list or anything, because there are too many...

#1 is Cass & Slide - Perception.

Actually Cobalt's thread inspired me to try to compile my own top 100 and while I'm not sure if I'll manage it I'm certainly discovering that there are a lot of good tracks out there.

Any ideas when this tune was released?

Yeah, you rediscover a lot of great tracks in the process. You'll have a few moments where you listen to an old favorite that you usually just list by impulse and say to yourself "wow, this is really good. No wonder I remember it as a favorite."

Enlightenment = classic!!

yeah i'd like to see ur top 100 cos our tastes seem similar so it'd be good to see if u have anything i've missed. I would have never discovered photon proj without TA cos i've never heard or seen it listed anywhere before.

Would u have any frank TRAX vs ORGAN productions in ur list? i think his take on milk inc's( luckily vox kept to a minimum) walk on water is brillant- i love classical sounding melodies and i think that's a strong runner

Once I manage a list of some sort I'll post it in Cobalt's thread. However it doesn't necessarily represent what I think are the 100 best songs out there; rather, it's the 100 songs that mean the most to me in one way or another. And I haven't heard many Frank TRAX productions actually...
