does anyone use an external hard disk recorder eg an akai etc? what use is a hard disk multi-track recorder for trance producers..? are these more for bands..please explain..thanks

Yeah, I'd say they would be more suited to recording live music myself. Things where there isn't a lot of touchy changes needed everywhere. I would hate to have to deal with one of those tiny little LCD display screens all the time. Need midi as well.
