Remixes that really aren't

Haha I only now found out that DuMonde's "Never look back" is not actually a remix of Binary Finary's 1998, even though it sounds more like one than some of my favorite 1998 remixes (e.g., Kennguru's). Perhaps too many trance melodies sound alike...

Anyone else know of songs that are too similar?

Lagoona - The Journey ~ Ayla - Part 2
Kay Cee - Escape ~ Ayla - Part 3 (or is mislabeled?)

Those tracks are definitelly mislabeled... Ayla part 3 does not exist and The Journey and Ayla Part 2 are very different as well... and about Dumonde Never look back... that again does not sound anywhere near Binary Finary... but you do make a good point though. Lots of trance tracks do sound similar... maybe its because of the similar synth sounds used by many of the artist and/or influences of favorite DJ's such as Ferry, Armin, and etc. Anyway if you have any comments, don't be afraid to post we are just here to help out... Many TA's on this forum know there stuff so don't get discouraged (even if you do get flamed)... you will learn alot from them.

The major difference is one has the long breakdown which fades to nothing before building up and the other doesn't. Other than that there are a few extra sounds in the Astral mix but they're pretty similar really...

Of course you're all correct-- Never Look Back indeed sounds nothing like 1998. But after listening to Dumonde's Millennium mix, and then Kennguru's (this probably isn't an official mix?), I could easily be convinced that it is an artistic remix (yes, I know it's not). Burst my bubble about artistic reworking, will you?

It seems to me there are remixes of songs that sound less like their originals than Never Look Back sounds like Dumonde's 2000. I can't think of a good example off the top of my head, and in fact I could be completely wrong, but that's my 2 cents
