I can't dance.Help!!!
I really love trance and club music. But I can't dance to it in public,as I think I look like a complete fool.
Actually I never danced slow songs in proms either. What to do if a girl wants to go out dancing???
Actually I'm a home person, almost never go to clubs although I love the trance music,is it wrong that I can count on one hand the number of times I was in a club dancing to trance music that I like so much?
two things.
1)get tanked. you think im being facetious. Later in life you will be like, why didnt i listen to orbax, and by then you will probably have let the girl of your dreams slip away.
2)get a girlfriend and take lessons, its fun, cheap. and youll be able to dance forever
there is no right way to dance to it.....
but i'll be honest, some people have it and some people don't......Its tough to explain, but its not like you have to know how, you just do it.....hmm.....almost like how you move your head around when driving.....theres no thinking involved.......only difference is you move your whole body instead of your head.....
there comes a point when you're on the d-floor, the tunes are pumping, and you feel in absolute sync with the music, thats, when you're dancing
besides, who cares what you look like.......I got more respect for people trying to dance than the people "too cool" to really enjoy themselves.....
Let me let you in on a little secret - unless you're a professionally trained dancer (or a woman), you cant dance. Everybody sucks at it for the most part. Especially us blokes. We get on the dancefloor and look about as graceful as an elephant in a sand pit.
But you know what? It doesn't matter. As long as you have a good time with everybody else it doesnt really matter what you look like. The trick is not to feel stupid. The best way i've found is to have a bit of a drink before you go out. Then you can dance to your hearts content and you love it. And so do the women, they think to themselves "hmm, at least he's brave enough to have a go".
** turns to the women for confirmation **
So dont worry about it. Have a practice in your room, everyone else does!!! It's like most things - practice makes perfect.

Agrees...guys simply can't dance...and the joy of a active crowd at a dance club is that it certainly doesn't matter since everyone is just bouncing around.
two words : gay men
if your concerned about how you look while dancing, just go to a rave or your favorite club and try to find a gay guy dancing to trance. watch how he dances, and imitate it. with time you will be a better dancer, garenteed. its a plus to dance well because women find it refreshing when they find a man who isnt afraid to show off his moves to a crowd.

someone give him gay spiderman
go to a rave and jump to the beat of the music.

Hey dont woryy...just dance like nobody is watching
or you could get really drunk...it might not improve your dancing skils, but at leats you wont be bothered by it at that particular moment
first off let me clear up that trance isn't the best stuff to dance to, or to even start dancing to. Infact, its imo its the least best style to dance to......:P keep that in mind next time you hear a track and realize you can't dance to it. Tons of various trance tracks imo just arent "danceable" and will keep me off the floor any day.
Theres a reason that dancing and its styles arent exactly the leading topics on this board.....this IS TRANCE addict, not House addict :P
right click, save target as
play with that for awhile
^^ good call
get some tribal stuff /shivers
Its pretty sexist to say that only women can dance. In fact I would go as far as to say that its extremely sexist. Im a guy and Im a quite good dancer. In fact most of the people who I know that are really good dancers are guys. Its also seems quite stupid to imply that sexuality has anything to do with how well one can dance. My advice is just to go out and dance and with practice you will become a good dancer. When I was mostly in to waving I really liked trance to dance to, the only problem was the long breakdowns could get to be a bit much. Now that Im getting more into popping Im starting to really like breaks to dance to.

| Originally posted by cammie you're absolutely right Streakfury. go out an enjoy yourself Xer and dont even consider what others are thinking, that's their problem, not yours. i am a woman, and am also a professional dancer (10 yrs ballet, 4 yrs tap, jazz, improv) and let me tell you, i see a lot of ppl at the club who are enjoying dancing a lot more that the so-called "dancers" in my school. if you love trance, then you gotta dance, that's all there is to it. let the music take control of you, let it flow through you and you will def need to dance, for sure. |
I suck at dancing, and I know it... if I'm at a club I'll just do it anyway, enjoy myself and the music, nobody really says anything about it.

| Originally posted by Shabbaman I know of some forms of house that are a lot less 'danceable'... the main reason there isn't a huge number of 'how to dance' and 'dancing for dummies' threads is because written text isn't exactly a great medium to express yourself if dancing is concerned. "Well, when the beat comes, I move my feet like this..." "No man, you should move your feet like this!" ... |

Re: I can't dance.Help!!!
What's the concept of "good dancer" when it comes to electronic music? Usually I just swing my arms and feet, jumping and twisting occasionally and that's it: I do what I feel like doing. Punching the air after a snare roll and stuff.
it's quite funny becuase girls sometimes come asking me to teach them some moves when I don't even know what I just did
