Square Bear feat. Cami - Alone in the Crowd (OrgaNik Remix)

Here's a little something I made as a favour to a friend.

Square Bear feat. Cami - Alone in the Crowd (OrgaNik Remix)
LoFi Stream
HiFi Stream
Download (192kbps, 07:53, 11,1Mt)

It's a commercial-ish vocal trance track. Not very complex but it should keep a crowd happy

The vocals were recorded pretty badly and that was the best I could do with them...

BTW,
tell me if the server gets too busy... I'll upload it to my own webspace if necessary.

The original can be heard here.

i hear you need to take a break nik, your producing to much... :/
always when i enter this section i see a new track from you...slow down.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-21-2003 06:41:

LOL
I haven't actually done anything in a while, I just had these tracks "in store"...

Posted by Endre on Aug-21-2003 07:02:

haha, sorry mate, but its just that, i mean, your perc's are pretty much the same as in that track we did together whatever it's name was 100 years ago... but otherwise its good i like the extra sounds, but the vocals and the track its self sucks pretty much, but thats not your fault, prolly the one who made it. Anyways, im not here to tell you what to do lol but i say, take your time and develope some new sounds for your perc's or find some new ways to use them, im sure you know what im talking about, your Al Azar tracks with mart was wonderful work, you whould stick to that kind of music.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-21-2003 07:43:

The Al Azar sound is for Al Azar, why would I want to have the same sound for every project?

This track was a bit of an experiment anyway, I had never worked on vocals before and I wanted to give it a shot... hence the "recycling" of percs.

ok mate, very well

A decent track, as has been mentioned the voclas sound a little flat, not powerfull enough for the track (tho they could work well in a chillout mix)
But the overall sound is nice and tight, good punch to it.
I would't mind seeing a dub mix of this mate

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Aug-22-2003 07:20:

Hmm, dunno bout a dub... some of the parts would need to be cut/edited...

I'll see if I have the time to do it, got tons of other projects to work on at the moment

Posted by DJ-Ande on Aug-22-2003 11:47:

dont like this

u have way better work

sorry for the really shitty comment but really u can do much better

Posted by DJPrototypeX on Aug-22-2003 14:49:

tune seems a bit too rushed...didnt like the vocals either...really liked the melody though. got some percussion under there that was tight aswell...not the best from u, but good werk anywhoz

Posted by Cami on Oct-12-2003 20:27:

I like it! ;-)

I like it, willing to work on it more with something other than a $15 mic and recording in my apartment closet. Perhaps will re-record at a pro studio.

good stuf nik, im likin the use of vocals-not too much just the right quantity, great depth to it. some of the percs are a bit sharp, apart from that-excellent

Posted by allstar on Oct-13-2003 21:28:

Let me be the first to say, omghi2u Cami.

I have to be honest here. The vocals don't fit. Probably due to the difficulties of doing this over the net.

Anyway, the production is nice. I like the lead alot.

Posted by Massive84 on Oct-13-2003 22:58:

Hiya mate

Well
Remove the vocals please, dont even add new one, i would like this track without any vocals

Posted by Cami on Oct-14-2003 05:01:

Hi!!! I like the track w/out vocals too, but since I am a singer I like it with vocals as well! Although, it would be nice to have Britney Spears' budget to record songs!

yea well you know, i checked out the orignal, and i didn't like the vocals there either, it sounded or to slow or to fast for the track, and the vocals came each time kinda unexpected, hard to discribe from mine view, but hey it is not your voice or skills, i checked the song(sorry forgot name) but in the discritption, it said it was your first one that you wrote, and there i could hear, that you had a nice voice

You do all realize that this is an old thread that the n00b bumped

Posted by Cami on Oct-15-2003 06:32:

Well I am pretty clueless with recording/producing, I just sing and try to write! Thanks for checking out my other songs, hopefully there will be more in the future.

Ok, um... the track is ok. I think you did a decent job at the remix, good sounds good layout... but the vocals need to have SOMETHING done to them... I would never leave all those vocals in the way they are, too much reverb on them, they sound too distant... these vocals need more effects on em, cut em up, reverse em or sumthin like 'Nothing (returning 93mix)' you know? I'd butcher em! lol

Anyhow, keep it up bro!

Posted by Cami on Oct-15-2003 19:46:

I think tweaked-out vocals are really cool, wish I could do it. i like how BT quirks up all his singers' vocals, and many other trance songs do the same. I don't know how to do it or I would too. Lasgo does not really do effects on their vocals though, do they?

Oh and HI everyone!

Yeah, I know. It was my first time doing something with vocals so I can't _quite_ do anything "Nothing"-like yet

Like everything, it'll come with time. I know in time, that if you really wanted this massive sound, you would be persistent in trying to acheive that. Well, in time, if you keep working with vocals, it'll get easier, and easier, and you'll get more of a pro sound.

Let me just say this - this song is very radio friendly, and the notes are pretty great, and powerful. Excellent for female vocals.

But, of course, this is your first time messing with vocals, very understandable, so I wont put any negative criticism.

One question - did Cami give you the vocal with 'Reverb' in it, or did you add the 'verb' effects? Something about the 'verb' reminds me of that Karoake feel.

Cami's voice is pretty good. Great for that electronic feel. , lol. I have never worked with vocals before, and it seems like a respectable challenge. Well, the actual song 'if' dubbed sounds great, and can be definetly be commercially successful.

Cami - keep up the good work with your voice. Mystery - Keep up the overall great production skills. I'm out. -Mental
