Cubase SX problems

I have a roland pc300 controller and when I use vst instruments in cubase there is a delay from when I press a key on my roland to when I hear the sound. Anyone know how I can get it in realtime please?

What kind of sound card are you using. This delay is called latency. Its the time your card takes to process the signal.

Go into Devices ==> Device Setup ==> VST Multitrack.

Select the Asio Driver if you have not done so yet. If you have a cheaper sound card, then this is what is most likely the cause of these delay issues. Somewhere in there is your buffer size as well. I can't remember exactly where. If you decrease the buffer size, you will decrease the delay, but the smaller the buffer, the worse quality the sound. Eventually, you will get crackling.

cheers for the help. I changed the asio driver setting cause there was 2 of them there for some reason and it worked a treat. Cheers for the help.
