Smiley DJ ID Contest 7

New contest is up and Running!

I Took JJ-T1's previous topic and edited it a bit, hope you don't mind

The idea:
Download the rar package and try to identify many samples as you can and then E-mail me [[email protected]]your answers. You can send me your results as many times you want. This time the package contains 85 samples.
Each sample holds 15 seconds duration. I hope it won't be too easy and won't be too hard.

What do I win?
winner can make the next ID contest and gets a little respect(?)

Rules:
Do not post answers here
You can get 2-3 points from each sample. Below you can see how...
Artist or title or remix right = 1 point
Artist + title or artist + remix or title + remix right = 2 points
Artist + title + remix right = 3 points

If your answer has same person as an artist but different alias then I won't give you point of it. For example you get 1 point of: Ferry Corsten - Out of the blue (artist should be "System F").

There will be no extra points given from the following versions: Album edit, original mix, radio mix/edit and club mix.

New Additions:
* include a .m3u file thats a playlist of all the IDs, saves alots of time.

* include another file called "00 Place Answers Here.txt" which is basically just a list of numbers from 01 to 85 going down the side, so that anyone can put down their answers easily and more organized.

Competition ends 22nd of september, good luck and have fun!

Only one LINK atm, Thanks to El`Zapo.

*** Download RAR file Here ***

Happy ID'ing

/ Rising.

Posted by Djeebie on Aug-22-2003 17:33:

I can only recognize a few tunes, but about 80 of them I really have no idea. Won't be participating then.

Just don't nobody share that txt file by mistake...

Posted by Haak on Aug-22-2003 19:24:

jeez, why are these always so hard? i thought i was decent at trainspotting heh.
got 8 so far

seems to be alot of old tunes there

Posted by noikeee on Aug-22-2003 19:59:

85?

don't you think it's a little too much?

anyway trying to compete, downloading right now

Posted by Zayatz on Aug-22-2003 20:18:

mhhh. some tunes were similar, but overall pretty hard
i don't know old tunes;/

Posted by Floorfiller on Aug-22-2003 21:49:

i also got 8 that i'm 100% on. there are some really great songs here that i can't place at the moment and a few that i NEED to know that i don't hehehe. i'm glad to see number 60 in there...i love that tune. and #18...i will remember you

Posted by Aabech on Aug-23-2003 09:00:

you should have capped it at 50 imo, 85 is a little way out

anyway, downloading now, looking forward to participate

Posted by Endo on Aug-23-2003 14:12:

Ouch, got 4 some good tunes in there, especially #79 and #80 whatever they are called!

But yeah I agree perhaps 85 is a little too much

Posted by starglider on Aug-23-2003 16:36:

Ouch. I got 8 so far and there's another half dozen or so that I could probably figure out given enough time.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Aug-23-2003 16:40:

Yep,the winner of the contest needs to reduce the number of samples, even 50 was more than enough, let alone 85.

Posted by Rising on Aug-23-2003 18:17:

Oppps
I didn't think it would be that hard.
The reason I've included many samples on this one is because it would give more chances for all participates.

Hmmm maybe that will help, you can found tunes from 94' to 03'.

Gonna check it out after my resits, next week

I only knew 1 with full details, know 4 others but need the exact remixes

Some of these are beautiful, can't wait for the TL

Wow, 3 identified, 3 more sounds familiar, out of 85...let's see, that's about 7% . And I thought Contest #6 was hard. Good luck on this one.

Posted by CygnusX on Aug-27-2003 13:01:

Wow, this one was long and hard
I'm sending in my results now, got about 6 tunes id'd

Posted by starglider on Aug-27-2003 22:56:

Sent with 12 IDs but there are at least three more I should really get. It's so frustrating when you know you know one but can't come up with a title... I'm not cut out for these contests.
