done and done!!

Posted by Renegade on Aug-24-2003 10:01:

Tough choice, but based on what I've heard in 2003 (both live and in recorded sets) the top 5 was all prog:

1) Danny Howells
2) Sander K
3) James Zabiela
4) Dave Seaman
5) Moshic (just for his EM )

Wanted to slip Armin and j00f in there, plus Adam Beyer and Ben Sims from the techno side, but no room unfortunately. 10 choices next year please. :-/

actually i was just reading through and thought, i never considered g&d but then thought, i havent heard a lot of there sets which made me go wow, besides their EM, and their productions are either hit or miss.

so i wouldnt put them in there.

1. Armin
2. Gabriel & Dresden
3. James Zabiela
4. Misja Helsloot & Jon O Bir tied
5. Sander Kleinenberg

I hate having to choose tho - cos there are just so many who've really done it for me this year....honourable mentions go to PVD, Lucien, JH, Markus Schulz, and also DJ Elusive and DJ Stigma for their absolute stand-out Oslo Nights sets which never fail to rock my world each month

Posted by Pointy on Aug-25-2003 10:48:

Okiedokie seriously now, mmm...top 5

ugh, this is tuff!! in no order:

Danny Howells
Kevin Yost
James Holden
Omid
Nick Warren

G&D - Gay ****s, crap over-rated boring prog
PvD - Gay ****, same old shit as last year, his songs are cheesy as fuck and would fit into any 4pm Nova set easily
Tiesto - Gay ****, meh..made some sick music, but DJingly, i find him to be poop
Armin - Gay ****, well not really but just doesn't rate my top 5
Sasha & Digweed - Both gay ****s who play sick music but it's been the same as other years.

Production-wise..mmm, in no order:

James Holden
Luke Chable
Makoto
Nu Tone
The Cinematic Orchestra
Steve Porter
Weekend Players
Afterlife
Hybrid
Greyarea

Theres more, but me no think of em at the mo.

Posted by escee on Aug-25-2003 11:13:

What sets are you basing this on? I LOVED JH's EM (from last year) and nearly put him in JUST for that, but the only other 2 sets of his I have (one is from like 2 weeks ago), his mixing is VERY substandard. Please tell me some good sets to get

Pointy : A word of advice - if you think calling people gay is an insult (which you quite obviously do..) then you seriously need to grow up! A number of my friends are gay and i take offence (on their behalf) for your stupid homophobic comments.

Quit it and grow up!!!!!
