-- my headphones are dieing
my headphones are dieing
i've had the sony v700's for about a year and a half now. they have been good headphones, but recently they have been acting up.
the volume in the right headphone is much lower than he volume in the left phone. i try messing with he wire and hte volume fluctuates in in the right ear. some times it gets louder and sometimes softer. i can't get the volume to seem to come back up to the same level the left phone is at tho. it sucks cuz my monitor speaker is on my left side so i need to be able to hear in the right phone. i would switch the headphone around, but the phones have formed ot my head and will only fit one way.
does anyone know how i can fix the phones so he the right one will play at the same level as the left?
That sucks dude .
I think you'll have to buy a new pair !
yeah gonna have to get a new pair, I just purchased the new pioneers and I love em. My roommate has the 700s and he wants the new pioneers now
Buy a technics a have been with it for 2 years and i sleep with it and still mint...
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
the last thing i need to do is throw down 150-200
i've been wanting to pick up a diff pair tho. Which brand of the Pioneers do you have?
HDJ-1000 .... Personally they are the best phones I have used ... block out noise GREAT!!! I went from the SOny 500s to the 700s and now these, I don't think I will ever own another pair

Check out the headphone sticky thread. I just reviewed the Pioneer HDJ-1000 and I returned them to get the Technics RP-DJ1200 (black). I thought my original MDR-V700DJ were better than the Pioneer HDJ-1000 for djing. I would suggest you try out the headphones for yourself before purchasing.
I personally believe the Technics RP-DJ1200 are the best headphones for djing in loud environments, along with the sony mdr-v700. I did not re-purchase the MDR-V700 because of the crack swivel issue that they have.
Make sure you dont get sold on the headphones by looks & appearance. Looks wont do squat when your in a situation with loud monitors in your face and you need good cans.
Check out the headphones, hold them in your hand, put them on your head, make sure they are comfortable. Make sure they feel durable to you, cause you dont want to be dishing out 100+ dollars every year for new ones.
*Edit*.. btw, I certainly dont think the pioneers are worth the extra 60 dollars. (comparing $90 to $150).
Current price of the pioneers are hefty, because they are new to the market. Eventually, they should fall to 100-120 dollars. Even at that, I would still prefer mdr-v700s.

See imo i thinkk the Sennhieser HD - 280 have all those headphones by a mile because i have tryed the v-700's and the HDJ-1000 and they have nothing on the Senn's the Senn's block out sound better then all of them and sound WAAAY better then all of them and feel better then all of them so in my opinion i think the Sennhieser HD - 280 are better then all of them but i cant speak about the Tehnics never tryed them
maybe u can get a repair on them @ your local sony store?
are u on warranty? maybe witha little extra cash u can get em fixed.
Cosmic Realm, hes been using the mdr-v700...which is VERY different to the hd-280 pro..in the sound, looks, grip, bass response, etc etc.
If he likes his v700 then he probaly w o n t like the hd 280 pro's.
They differ in most aspects. The most important for a dj,the bass response of those 2 has been discussed at the hphones thread.
I always suggest that u have to audition some burned-in ones at a store to get a clear opinion if u like the hd280 pros or not.
